You'll meet your guide after a short 10-minute walk outside of your Amber Cove cruise terminal. You'll be driven to the nearby adventure park in air-conditioned comfort; the drive is about 10 minutes away from Amber Cove in Maim, a small town situated in the mountains between 4 rivers. When you arrive at Adventure Park there will be a meet and greet in the country house bar.
You'll be given a 4-wheel ATV for 1 or 2 riders (you will indicate that on your order form). These are easy to drive and very comfortable with a backrest. You'll be driving off and on-road through the Dominican countryside. The ride takes you along riverbeds and through streams, past fertile local farms, and through lush green forests where you'll see the lifestyle and culture of the country as few tourists do. You'll be able to drive your ATV for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Back at the park, you'll be given instructions and equipment for your adrenaline-rush flight over the treetops. There are 8 ACCT-certified lines and professional guides to make sure you have a safe and thrilling ride. There are 2 double galvanized steel cables for added safety that take you more than 7,900 feet or 1.5 miles over the lush green countryside. Beginners and experts alike will enjoy it. One unique feature of this circuit is that there is no active braking with gloves like most zip lines. The guides will do that for you so all you have to do is have fun and enjoy the view. There is a handlebar also on the lines for your comfort. Great for small children as they can fly with a guide or parent, no need to miss out. There is a moderate amount of walking between the lines as well as climbing so please make sure you read over the restrictions and notes before booking. For maximum enjoyment, you set the speed and the guides will move at your pace.- approximately 1 to 1.5 hours duration for all the lines.
Back at the country house, you'll be treated to a typical home-cooked Dominican-style lunch of rice, beans, chicken or beef, fried sweet potatoes and yucca, vegetables, tropical fruits, and more. The park has a variety of indigenous animals and birds to see as well.
After this amazing adventure shore excursion in Amber Cove, your transportation will return you to your Amber Cove cruise ship terminal.
