Roatan Beginner SCUBA Diving by Boat Excursion is available for cruise ship passengers arriving at the Port of Roatan Coxen Hole and Mahogany Bay.
Your fun day starts right at the ship pier where the staff will pick you up and take you to the dive shop. The drive is approximately 30 minutes. Your instructor will get you checked in and then the adventure begins. The dive shop is a 5-star PADI-rated site and a National Geographic-ranked operator as well.
Your Discovery SCUBA Diving Excursion is also known as DSD, Beginners or Resort SCUBA - it gives you a feel of what diving is all about but does not involve hours of classroom or certification afterward. The first part of the day is a 30-minute theory course where you will learn the basics of how to dive, the equipment involved, and watch a video.
After your course, you will get into some shallow water with your instructor to practice the basic skills you will use for your real dive. Your instructor will be supervising you the entire day. Up next your guides will take you on a short boat ride to a reef where your dive will take place.
You will enjoy about 60 minutes of exploring the beautiful undersea world at a maximum depth of 40ft. After the dive, you are bound to be hooked! This dive may count toward future Open Water Diving certification.
Once the dive has come to an end, your guide will take you back to the Turquoise Bay beach resort where you can enjoy the facilities
including a swimming pool, lounge chairs, fresh water shower, etc., and be able to relax. You are welcome to purchase food or beverages from the restaurant before you head back to the cruise terminal. If there is anyone in your group that would like to ride along to the beach, enjoy the resort facilities and wait for the divers to return, may purchase the add-on Beach Only - see the order form.
