    For this Grand Cayman Beginner Discover SCUBA Dive Excursion, you will meet just a 3-5 minute walk from your Grand Cayman cruise ship terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

    Excursion Notes
      • Each diver will be required to complete and pass a waiver for safe participation (standard procedure of all diving operators). In case there is a safety concern raised by your SCUBA Diving Instructor, your deposit and balance payment are fully refundable - you must email SEE within 14 days of your excursion.
      • Normal SCUBA dive visibility in Grand Cayman is over 100ft.
      • The average water temperature is 78 - 86 F° all year round in the Cayman Islands.
      • We recommend you to bring biodegradable sunblock, a swimsuit, a towel, cash for tips, souvenirs, etc.
      • Please download and print the following PADI Discover Scuba® Diving Participant Statement (PDF document) and complete it prior to participation. It is required that you bring this completed form and any other required notes or paperwork.
      • Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion; no refund will be granted if the requirements are not met.
    Excursion Restrictions
    • Divers must be at least 10 years old. Any diver under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult.
    • Divers should be in general good health, certain medical issues such as heart conditions, a current cold or sinus congestion, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, a severe medical problem, could prevent you from participating in a dive.
    • Please download and print the following PADI Discover Scuba® Diving Participant Statement (PDF document) and complete it prior to participation. It is required that you bring this completed form and any other required notes or paperwork.
    • Anyone who answers YES to any of the medical questions is required to bring a note from their doctor approving participation. The dive instructor has the final word if a guest can participate.
    • Anyone who appears to be under the influence of drugs, alcohol or any other chemical which is deemed by the instructor to affect their ability to dive, will be denied.
    • Each diver will be required to complete and pass a waiver for safe participation (standard procedure of all diving operators).     Are there any dangerous animals I may encounter during the beginner dive excursion in Grand Cayman, such as sharks, etc?

    Star Corals, Brain Corals and Sea Fans are some of the hard species of corals found around Cayman as well as dozens of types of sponges including Giant Barrel Sponges which may be over two meters high.
    I have never gone diving before...can I participate in this Grand Cayman beginner dive shore excursion?
    This is the perfect scuba diving shore excursion for those with zero experience diving. You do not need any prior certification to do this.
    Will I be a certified diver after this diving excursion?
    No, this excursion only allows guests to get an idea of what SCUBA diving is like - this is NOT the Open Water Dive Certification course. However, you will earn points that may be applied toward a future open-water SCUBA diving certification.
    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Grand Cayman Beginner Discover SCUBA Diving Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?
    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
    Cancellation

    For the Grand Cayman Beginner Discover SCUBA Diving Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.

    For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:

    • Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
    • Your ship skips/misses the port.
    • Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
    • A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
    • Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
    • Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

My husband and I did this. I am NOT a good swimmer by any account (hubby is), but I wanted to try it. Our instructors, Dan and Gaston were spectacular! They were extremely patient and helpful to ensure that we were able to enjoy this experience. It was very cool being able to be down 25 feet, walking on the bottom and seeing cool fish and just the experience. If this is part of your bucket list (as it was mine)....DO IT! Ask for Dan and Gaston.. great people and even better instructors. Sadly, did not bring camera... would recommend doing so.

I am 71 years old. This was my first time scuba diving. Gear heavy and needed help getting out of water, but experience was awesome. Do again for sure! Staff and guides in water were personal and extremely helpful. Safe all the way. Great pre-instructions. Remember to pinch your nose to equalize ear pressure going down. I had to go slow up and down. Guides really patient and very helpful. Love this experience.

We purchased this excursion through ShoreExcursioneer.com and had paid a deposit through them and the remainder at Diver’s Down upon arrival to actually scuba dive. We arrived a half hour late due to our ships process of getting passengers onto a tender boat, but the staff was very accomodating and still allowed us to dive, which we were very grateful for. Jack, our guide, was absolutely amazing. He was extremely patient, answered all of our questions, and explained everything in detail. We had brung a phone underwater to record and Jack took it to get good shots for us. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone looking to dive for the first time. We had an amazing time!

This was a fantastic shore excursion - We had the best dive instructor - Alexia - she was wonderful - very caring and very kind. We are certified divers but it has been awhile - so this was the perfect refresher course. This was a perfect way to re-enter scuba diving. The equipment was excellent - we were not rushed through instruction and were given all the important instruction by Alexia - the dive was about 18 to 20 feet - we saw lots of fish (including 2 Puffer fish and huge Tarpins) and a cool ship wreck. I highly recommend this excursion - (Tour Operator) and Alexia get A++++! Grand Cayman was beautiful and Alexia made our excursion perfect!

Very pleased with our experience on this excursion. My husband was a natural and picked it up quickly. I however struggled with some anxiety. Our instructor was wonderful. Very reassuring and coached me through every step. We would recommend this excursion for anyone interested in scuba! Go for it!!

My husband and our 18 year old daughter absolutely loved this excursion. After a short walk from the ship pier we arrived at the location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although after getting geared up and into the water the scuba diving was a bit overwhelming for my 12 year old and myself. One of the guides helped us back to the dock and was very encouraging. The dive company also offered us snorkeling for my daughter and I if we wanted to while the rest of our family was still doing scuba. The company was nice enough to give us a refund of half of the fee we paid for the excursion and gave us coupons to eat at one of the local restaurants.

So glad my boyfriend and i got to experience this, our Dive Master Josh was super patient and helpful. First he took us to shallow water where we practiced the theory he explained before, we saw lots of colorful fish. Then we dove on a wreck full of coral, so beautiful!! We are definitely looking forward to starting with our certification back home, scuba diving has become my favorite activity ever!!
