Admire one of the most beautiful natural wonders of Malta, the Blue Grotto. These caves combine with the sunlight and the surrounding chain of caves to reflect tons of blues. Afterward, you will have free time to do some shopping at the popular Sunday market at Marsaxlokk.

Very nice trip, we were fortunate to take the boat ride to the caverns of Blue Grotto, the weather was great. Everything else was good, my mom bought a lot of souvenirs.

With everything being closed on Sunday, this was absolute perfect way to spend our Sunday morning. We were traveling on the Pacific Princess that was in port on Sunday and found this excursion through Shore Excursioneer. It was a short 30 minute ride to the Blue Grotto and the landscape was truly inspiring. Although this is not a private excursion, we were fortunate to be the only ones who were doing this tour (our party of 5) We could not miss out on the boat ride through the caves. Luck was in our side and there was one boat rental available which we gladly paid for. The boat ride was another 30 minutes approximately. The water was sky clear and you can see the sand and fish swimming through. We felt completely comfortable with our helmsman who was so kind and gave us a brief description. We returned to our transportation for a 30 minute drive to Marsaxlokk , and the attraction is the market. We ate lunch and I must say it was the best seafood we have ever tasted. Being a fishing village, the food is fresh and with recipes passed down to generations. We tried a typical Maltese soup that translates to "widows soup" and another soup I cannot recall the name but it was delicious fish soup. The locals here were really friendly and enjoy welcoming tourists. This was truly a unique experience and much more than we expected!
