For this Grand Cayman Stingray City Catamaran Sail and Snorkel Excursion, you will meet directly at your cruise pier, all necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

Excursion Notes

Please bring along sunglasses, a towel, a change of clothes, a swimsuit, a camera, and cash for souvenirs, tips, etc.
The departure times are meeting times, the actual tour departure after a short ride to the dock is about 20 minutes.
Alcohol is NOT served on board due to an insurance policy, however, bring your own, no problem!

My family and I visited Stingray City with our family. The crew on our boat was so nice and friendly. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Cayman Islands. Yes, Stingray City is a popular spot so expect people. This crew made it so much fun.

First, when it says be the first off the ship, do not be the first off the ship. The start time of the excursion is 8 am, and that is ISLAND time, NOT SHIP TIME!! Also, Dexter will not show up until 2 minutes before 8 am. We were about to cancel our excursion and go with another company, but someone had told us that he does not show up until the last second. They were right. We waited over 2 hours, because we were the first off the ship and ship time was one hour ahead. We would have stayed and had breakfast before going. Once Dexter showed up, we were the only ones form the ship who booked with him. Only 7 of us and it was nice. He stopped at a McDonalds along the way so we could get a quick bite, since we were hungry. We arrived at the marina where he docks his catamaran, and we loaded up and went out to the sting rays. We motored due to the winds were in our face. Once their, his deckhand anchored the boat and got a large stingray for us. We took many photos of the stingrays, had them hand on us, fed them and had a great time. He does offer drinks on the boat for free. He then motored us about 300 yards away at a coral reef and we got to snorkel. We saw tons of fish and sting rays. He has fins and snorkels to use, but we had our own masks and snorkels. We got to sail in, and it was a beautiful and relaxing sail back. He took us back to the boat in with more than enough time. He offered to take us anywhere we wanted to go, but we all were exhausted from the swimming and adventure.

One of our family favorites of all time....the guide was awesome. We rode on the catamaran to where all the stingrays were. It was kinda crazy at first...but the guide was awesome and we made lifetime memories!

Relaxing boat ride out to stingray island but the boat was a little crowded. Amazing time with the stingrays. Sand is white and powdery. Water is crystal blue. Not much time left for other activities.

I had been to Sting Ray City previously on an over filled boat. Basically, I had no interest or intention of going back. However, my granddaughter really wanted the experience. So I decided that I would go but only only a catamaran. I figured I would enjoy the ride. So booked this tour with(local operator). And boy am I glad I did. He and his mate were amazing hosts, we had an exceptional day. He took us to an awesome reef, one of the best. If I ever go again I hope that (local operator) is available. Highly recommend this excursion.

We went in Oct of 2018 and we enjoyed it very much! The captain and his mate were great hosts. We loved the fact there were only 11 of us in the group. We had a couple of stingrays to hold and share with everyone. The bigger groups didn't get as much time with the stingrays as we did and they had to jockey into position to get to hold one. We had no such issue! We took amazing pictures and the water was gorgeous. Then, the snorkeling was amazing! The reef was so beautiful! I have snorkeled many reefs around the world and this was one of my favorites! Soda and water is provided but if you want to eat bring something with you. After the excursion we were all dropped off wherever we wanted to go. I want to do this excursion again!

Wow!!!! This is SUPER intimidating once you get there, but WOW you guys!!! What a friggin experience!!!! Our 10yo daughter freaked out and went back to the boat - we paid the extra $50 for the professional pictures and it was worth it, he air dropped them right to my phone!!! A MUST SEE when in Cayman Island!!!

(The captain) was a wonderful host on his catamaran. It was the perfect weather to head out to snorkel and paddle with the stingrays on the sandbar. Everything was as described and even better. It is a long day so be sure to bring snacks, only drinks available; we forgot ours and were famished. I would suggest that anti-fog spray be used on the masks for better viewing. We waited a very long time for a tardy family of five and in fact when we were in the van on our way, (he) got a phone call they were now waiting at the pier. He turned around and went back. Would like the start time be closer adhered to. Once we were rolling, it was truly a fabulous time for all. Thanks, all!

(Captain) and crew was great. The whole experience was awesome. He made sure my friends and I were comfortable from start to finish. I mostly definitely will book him again. My friends were afraid to get in the water but he assured them they were safe and in good hands. Very nice boat and he made all of his guests fill welcomed.

Dexter's was great! My family of 5 enjoyed the catamaran and both snorkel spots. Our trip had about 20 people whereas many other excursions packed in the people and didn't look nearly as fun. I highly recommend This!

After looking through a lot of excursions for Grand Cayman we settled on this one. We are so glad we did. Our group was small which you will not get if you go on an excursion sponsored by the cruise ship. We were picked up at the port and taken to the catamaran, where we made our way out to the sand bar (about 30 minutes or so) but the ride was wonderful. When we got to the sand bar, the first thing I noticed was the boats packed full of people. I read reviews about cruise sponsored excursions that talked about how they didn't get to spend much time with the rays...now I know why. Not on this excursion. Our guides made sure we each got to touch, hold and even feed the sting rays. It was totally awesome!! We had already taken pictures and the guide said "no here lets have some with you as a couple and then just the kids." I have so many pictures to remember this day. We then moved on to the reef. We had gone snorkeling in Cozumel last year so I thought it would be like that...Boy was I wrong. These guides took us to the most beautiful reef with the most wildlife I have ever seen. It was like being in an aquarium. We then loaded back up and made our way back to shore where they were going to take us back to the port but since we had so much time he dropped us off at our request at a restaurant for lunch (which was walking distance to the port) I HIGHLY recommend this excursion to anyone who is going to Grand Cayman!! We will be (going) again next time we go back.

We were a little nervous to book this excursion, but so glad we did! Because we booked with shore excursioneer we were able to enjoy our excursion with fewer people. In fact, our tour was booked for us and two other couples...but when one didn't show up, it ended up being a tour on a catamaran with just the two couples. We pulled up to the sandbar with the stingrays, and while it was crowded, our guide was ready with food and even helped make sure we got quality photos and video. When we were ready to leave, we went and found a quiet spot to snorkel before heading back.

We didn't want a big party scene. This was a good choice - it was fun without being like Spring Break crazy. The boat was clean and the guides nice. I did not like the rum punch, it was just too strong. But I liked the other drinks.
