For a truly unique Cozumel Excursion experience, come along with us as we explore a well-preserved cenote and an ancient, interlocked cave and underground river system once used by the Mayans. Swim in pristine waters through the cave while marveling at the stalactites and stalagmites!

This excursion is much less active than I thought it would be. It is possible we were taken along a different route though, as my group turned out to have several older people, and a woman with an injury. I was the only person under 50, so it’s possible we received a safer tour. Still, it was pretty fun. We did not receive any wetsuits or water shoes though.

Firstly, it was so easy to find a tour location. The first guide was waiting us on time and explained everything very clearly. He helpfully led us from the Cozumel island to the Playa del Carmen till we got to the mini-bus, where we were taken by driver to the main spot of activity. The trip to the caves was in the Mexico jungles, which one in a time was amazing and in a other time a bit scary..D I still remember that narrow bumpy road to the caves:D.It was worth it. When we got there, we instantly met Daniel, who was really friendly, funny and so helpful guy. He led us to the Cenote Underground River and gave us an unique experience which was one of the best in my life. Also, we had a possibilty to have our personal photos during the Tour, which was so amazing. Big thank you for the photographer! You are really talented.Totally recommend it!!!

The cave itself was amazing. Getting there was another story. The gravel road sucks, they call it the Mayan massage for a reason. The “snack” they give you has a lot to be desired. Probably will book through the cruise line next time.

This excursion was amazing! The communication on where to meet and getting us to the location was excellent. We loved our guide Pueblo. He was very knowledgeable and you could tell enjoyed his job. Inside the caves in the crystal clear water swimming through the stalactites and stalagmites was unreal. We loved the pictures they took while we were there and they were reasonably priced. You might pack a few snacks since you do miss lunch. It was a highlight of our trip.

Our carnival excursion to the amazing secret river was cancelled due to the ferry warning when were in Cozumel so we had to book "Amazing Mayan Cave and Cenote Underground River Snorkel Excursion from Cozumel" through Shore Excursioneer. We were greeted in Cozumel at the ferry by a representative working for Shore Excursioneer, they gave us the ferry tickets and went with us on the ride to Playa Del Carmen. After we got off the ferry in Playa Del Carmen our tour rep handed us off to the tour guide from (Tour Operator), Stefano. He was an amazing tour guide, he made an already excellent excursion an amazing one. Instead of just pushing us quickly through a cave he educated us on the history of the cave and about the Mayan people who used this cenote years ago. My family loved the tour. The photos came out great and were very affordable. The whole process was extremely easy, someone was with us from the time we got to the pier in cozumel until we returned and got back onto our cruise ship.

You must go before this becomes popular and it turns commercialized. Amazing guide! We scored and had the excursion to ourselves! Our family with 2kids ages 10&15 loved it. One of our life moments that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Bring cash with you, we didn’t realize they have a photographer that comes along and takes beautiful pictures of you. If you are on the Carnival Cruise you will need to take a taxi, it’s about a 10min taxi ride. Also due to Carnival cruise taking forever to letting us off the boat we barely made it.

The guide Pablo and the driver were amazing. They made the whole experience even better. The snorkel at the river was surreal, the sunlight enters to the cave allowing to see the three roots. We also spot a blind catfish and of course the stalagmites and stalactites. It couldn't be better!
