    • The maximum weight to fit in the kayak is 250lbs (113Kg). The maximum height is 6'7" (200cm).

    • There is walking over uneven terrain and slopes to reach the lake.
    • Full arm and leg mobility is required to board/operate the kayak.
    • Pregnant women up to 10 weeks should check with their doctor before booking this excursion. Pregnant women 10 weeks or more should not participate.

We had a good excursion kayaking on Chilkoot Lake. Our guides were friendly as well gave us info about the wildlife, river valley, salmon runs, and the native people. Overall good choice. The lake itself is beautiful, serene, and surrounded by beautiful mountains, we really enjoyed!

We learned that we were right in time for season change so wildlife sightings were guaranteed but I didn't think we would see so many! It was such an amazing experience. I was just expecting an easy going kayak experience and figured we would see an eagle here and there but my heart nearly fell off my chest with so much excitement! We got to see how the eagles would swoop down and catch some salmon in a blink of an eye. We also saw how the other eagles would steal their food in mid-air! We saw 5 grown bears and 3 small cubs feeding on salmon but we had to keep a safe distance. It was incredible. We had a great guide the whole time, Jen, who went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and gave us so much info about the area and also took some awesome pictures for us with her cool iPhone.

My family and I agree that this is a marvelous excursion!! Personally, I knew very little about Alaska, I would have never imagined that it could offer such beautiful locations... Our guide (who was born and raised there) made sure we knew everything there is to know about Alaska by telling us lots of stories and fun facts. The kayaking in the lake is a unique moment that we will never forget. Thank you Shore Excursioneer for recommending this excursion to us!!!
