This combo excursion includes two exciting adventures, an air-boat ride through the Everglades and breathtaking coastal sightseeing of Miami from Biscayne Bay. You'll be accompanied by an experienced, and knowledgeable guide who will keep you entertained with information about what you are viewing. Both of these experiences are a must for anyone who visits Florida, its cityscapes, and wildlife.
Your meeting point is a short taxi ride from your Miami cruise ship port. As soon as everyone is aboard your two-part adventure will begin!
For the Everglades Air-Boat adventure, you will enter the most diverse ecosystem in the world. Consisting of over a million acres of grasslands, the glades are home to countless species of wildlife and foliage. You will be brought to the Everglades National Park, which has other attractions as well, and board your Air-boat. You'll be handed cushioned headsets for protection from the sound of the boat, and to hear the narration from the guide.
As you travel through the glades you'll see unbelievably lush vegetation and fantastic, panoramic views. Keep an eye out for the famous resident alligators, of course, but also look for the tropical birds such as the anhinga, the osprey, and blue herons, and check and see if you can spot any one of the four species of turtles, the West Indian manatee, or even the elusive panther. This area is teeming with wildlife and you'll have the chance to experience it up close. You'll also learn how fragile this system is, and how important the Everglades are both as an incredible ecosystem and for educational purposes as well. Your airboat ride is approximately 30 minutes.
After your narrated ride, you can check out the alligator wildlife show, or maybe you'd like to follow the jungle walking trail. Of course, you can just sit and relax and purchase a bite to eat at their restaurant and browse the gift shop. When the time comes, you will be notified to board your transportation for the next adventure.
You will be brought to the docks in Miami to be welcomed aboard your sightseeing boat. With plenty of seating both inside and out, upstairs and down, you'll never have to strain to see the beauty of the Miami skyline and its famous beaches. Inside the air-conditioned salons below you'll have the chance to purchase soft drinks, beer, wine, cocktails, and snacks from the friendly crew while viewing through the large windows.
As you glide across the waters of Biscayne Bay you'll not only see the city skyline, but also Fisher Island, Miami Beach, and the Port of Miami cruise ship port. Your captain will make sure to go along the coastline close enough to see some of the homes of the rich and famous too. Known as Millionaire's Row, you will marvel at the dwellings of celebrities such as Gloria Estefan, Shaquille O'Neal, P Diddy, Rosie O'Donnell, and more. Your Biscayne Bay Boat excursion will be 90 minutes in length.
After returning to the dock, your transportation will return to your meeting point for you to go back to your cruise ship terminal or explore Miami on your own.
