    For the Cozumel Mexican Cooking Class and Playa Mia Beach Break Excursion, your meeting location is just outside your cruise ship terminals. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

    Excursion Notes
      • We suggest you bring a swimsuit, sun protective clothing, towel, cash for tips and additional purchases, etc.
      • Additional items/services are available at an additional charge: lockers, umbrellas, towels, hair braiding, additional beverages other than listed on the domestic open bar menu, a la carte food, snack bar food, massages, photos with macaws and iguanas, snorkeling, shopping (handcrafts, clothing, souvenirs, jewelry, cigars, beach gear and more).
      • Lockers can be rented for $6.00 USD per locker (plus a $6.00 USD key deposit).
      • Umbrellas and beach towels are available for rent for $4.00 USD plus a $4.00 USD deposit.
      • Snorkel equipment is available for rent at $16.00 USD.
      • All prices above are subject to change.
    • Not available on Sundays
    Excursion Restrictions
    • The minimum participation age is 14 years old, maximum age is 70.
    • The minimum height is 5 feet, maximum height is 6 feet 9 inches due to table workstation heights.
    • This excursion is not wheelchair accessible or appropriate for those with difficulty standing for long periods of time.
    • Guests must be self-sufficient and must be able to stand for at least 90 minutes. Participants must be able to descend and ascend stairs.
    • All guests must comply with the specific rules of each individual activity inside the park.
    • Participants must comply with all the instructions given by the Chef and the staff.
    • Underage participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
    • The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18 years old.
    • Playa Mia may require, at its sole discretion, a valid photo ID as proof of age for the consumption of alcohol.
    • Some beach services and attractions may be subject to age, height, and/or weight requirements/restrictions.
    • Non-motorized water toys, services, and activities are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
    • Playa Mia now has restrictions on sunscreen use in order to help fight the spread of White Band coral syndrome. Use of ANY type of sunscreen, sunblock, and suntan lotion is strictly prohibited. All guests must shower BEFORE entering either the ocean or Playa Mia pools. They suggest the use of long-sleeved UV-filtering shirts, hats, and sunglasses. Coral, fish and all other sea creatures thank you for your cooperation!

    How long is the excursion?
    The actual cooking class is 1.5 hours. You may enjoy the beach facilities before and after your class.
    What is the maximum amount of guests for the class?
    There is a maximum of 24 for each class. 
    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Cozumel Mexican Cooking Class and Playa Mia Beach Break Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?
    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
    Cancellation

    For the Cozumel Mexican Cooking Class and Playa Mia Beach Break Excursion,we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if:

    • You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
    • Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
    • Your ship misses/skips the port.
    • Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
    • A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
    • Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
    • Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

The tour was so worth the money and was really worth much more than what we paid. After leaving our ship, we went to a meeting spot and bused to the location. The cooking class was in a beautiful building with great cooking stations. The class was loads of fun and very informative. The food that we made and got to eat was wonderful and it didn't hurt that all the drinks including the time at the beach were included in the price. The water at the beach was a little dirty and full of seaweed but still fun. The chairs and umbrellas were included in the price also. SO WORTH THE MONEY!

I have been to Playa Mia every year and never tried the cooking class until this year. It was literally the most fun thing I had done! Chef Moises was so fun and the whole experience was awesome! I learned how to cook with my husband, met new friends and the drink were perfect! I will definitely do this again next time I go!

Chef Moises and his assistant Wilmer were so much fun, informative, and funny! We were welcomed by Wilmer and he explained to us the process and what we would be cooking for the day. Then Chef Moises came out and we quickly began cooking. We prepared a dessert made of plantain and Chef Moises showed us how to decorate our plates with chocolate and cream. We created various shapes and animals and learned how to plate our desserts. We then prepared a sope with shrimp, veggies, and a yummy salsa. Next we prepared a yummy fish dish topped with a tamarind sauce. Chef Moises and Wilmer explained every step and we also enjoyed unlimited drinks during our class. We then ate our food in a nice room with a great view of the ocean. We spent the rest of the day hanging out on the beach. It was a great day!!

I would give more stars if I could! The cooking was informative and very easy to follow, the instructor, Angel, was a great teacher, cook and comedian all rolled into one. We got to eat all we cooked and drinks were delicious and never stopped. The only thing that would make it better is the recipes so I can duplicate the meal for my family at home, copied QR code for recipe, hoping to hear back soon!

I had this cooking class with my husband and had a wonderful time. The chefs there that teach the class are wonderful - part comedians, part cooking instructors and part history teachers. Fun, fun fun!

We were part of this tour last month while cruising on Royal Caribbean. We really had a wonderful time during the whole excursion, we had a cooking class and everything was delicious. The chef was very patient and explain very well every step, he was also funny. After we ate all that we prepared, we had a beach break that was wonderful. The beach was sandy, the water so clear and had a lot of lounge chairs and shaded areas. I really loved this place and I promised to return very soon bringing more family and friends.
