Your adventure begins when you meet your English-speaking guide outside your cruise terminal in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Your shore excursion guide will help you board the transportation for a short 20-minute ride through the countryside of Puerto Plata to the Damajagua Waterfalls. Along the way, they will give you a brief outline of what you can expect to see and do. Note: the transportation will either be a van or minibus depending on the size of your group.
 
Puerto Plata's crown jewel attraction, 27 Charcos of Damajagua waterfalls is a guided hike excursion through thick forest, crossing footbridges, and passing numerous flora before eventually reaching a rocky hilltop where you'll begin making your way down by jumping or sliding down a series of waterfalls. The guide will provide you with helmets and safety gear before you start sliding down water-cushioned chutes or jumping into deep turquoise pools. The guide will give you a brief explanation of the safety rules and then you are ready for the adventure called Taino Bay Damajagua Park Waterfalls Excursion.

There is a guide at each of the waterfalls to help you to climb up against the water, like a salmon going upstream. Each small waterfall is unique; some have natural steps and others have a wood ladder to make it easier to get to the top. In this Damajagua Park adventure, you will be able to jump and climb a maximum of 7 of the waterfalls.
 
If climbing the falls is a fun experience, imagine the way back down is a blast! Jump from the rocks into the pools or use the natural toboggan-like water slides to get down. The experienced local guide will tell you which is the best option for each of the waterfalls, always considering your safety first. This is a great fun-filled adventure for young visitors and those young at heart.
 
Once at the base camp, you will have time to relax, use the facilities or buy a delicious buffet lunch at the local restaurant (cost not included). On the way back to the cruise terminal, your Damajagua waterfalls shore excursion guide will take you through the Maimon Lands; this protected area is well-known due to its unique cultural and historical background.
