Looking for an adventure Shore Excursion in St. Lucia's great outdoors? Then come along with us as an experienced crew takes you out for some whale and dolphin watching off the coast of St. Lucia!
To start this great St. Lucia Whale and Dolphin Watching Excursion, you will meet your guide at your St. Lucia Castries cruise terminal and then board the extremely spacious and comfortable double-deck 50ft power catamaran to spot the migrating mammals in the waters off St. Lucia. Your captain will welcome you on-board where you will get ready to ride along with knowledgeable whale enthusiasts.
There is a great chance of spotting whales, so keep an eye out for the many whale varieties and other marine mammals that have been sighted here as well. Commonly sighted whale species are Sperm Whales, Pilot Whales, and Humpback Whales. But Cuvier's Beaked Whales, False Killer Whales and occasionally Bryde's Whales too. Although the majority of the whales migrate down to the Caribbean, there are resident whales that stay in the area. Keep watch for pods of dolphins also - Pisso's Dolphins, Bottle-nosed, Fraser Dolphins and the acrobatic Spinner dolphin can all be spotted here.
Once a whale or dolphin is spotted, the shore excursion captain will maneuver the boat into the best viewing position without disturbing or harassing the mammals.
While you are on the boat you will also be offered bottled water, mineral water, soft drinks, rum punch, and snacks. The Dolphins and Whale Watching Excursion will make sure you do not go without during this fun St. Lucia Excursion. There are a couple of different boats used but all have an onboard restroom, 2 levels, outdoor seat and standing area as well as a covered seating area. The boat used depends on the group size booked for the day.
Keep those cameras ready. One never knows what these playful creatures may do. Keep an eye out for breeches and other activities while the whales enjoy the beautiful waters off St. Lucia.
Once your time is up, sit back and relax while you are returned to the dock. Then it's just a short walk back to your St. Lucia cruise ship pier.
