This excursion was so much fun! The dune buggies were in good condition. The tour company provided helmets and goggles. Our guide was friendly and kept us safe. We drove through villages, on dirt roads, through puddles, across small rivers/creeks. Prepare to get wet and muddy! We stopped at a beach and were able to rinse off a bit. They have outdoor showers back at their office so we were able to get cleaned up there, as well. We decided to buy the picture package... the pictures came out great and the price was reasonable. I highly recommend this excursion!

Our family of 4 loved this! We had a great time...got dirty, got to clean up in the ocean and rode some more. We were able to do this excursion, get back to the ship, change and leave again to walk around and explore. Highly recommend and get the picture & video package these guys sell. Well worth the small amount they charged for it! You do have to walk out the port and to the road to meet them.

This excursion was amazing. More than I could’ve ever thought, especially for the price. My two boys, 13&15 loved every minute. We are looking to do it again when we go back in 24’. They make you feel comfortable. They take you through the culture and most beautiful places. The gentlemen guiding us were awesome! If you go to Amber Cove, try this excursion. You will not regret it one bit! When it says wear something that can get wet and dirty, listen. Lol. You will get straight up soaked the first time going through the water with your ATV. When they say empty your pockets, empty them. My son thought it would be great to take his phone, just keeping it in his pocket. He found out the hard way it didn’t matter what pocket it was in, it would be sitting in water. Can’t wait to go back and do it all again!

I'm so glad I did my homework and found this tour. It was such a blast for my family of 6 and we were laughing the entire time. The staff was the best, our guide "Caliente" and his crew were awesome and had great communication. They texted me while I was on my way out of the ship to tell me where to find them. Once we got to the meet up spot, they drove us about 5 minutes to the location where the dune buggys were and got us set up with our helmets and goggles. They have restrooms here you can use and if you don't have a face covering, they sell them for $5 and you will definitely want one so you don't get dust or mud in your mouth. They had someone leading, someone following, and a photographer snapping pictures and videos the whole time. We drove through muddy areas, tropical jungle-like spots, the beach and through a small town so we got to see a bit of everything. We saw lots of cows roaming around too. We stopped at a small village where they showed us how they make cigars and let us try them too.We also got to sample domincan coffee, chocolate and wine- which are all available to purchase as well. Then we continued back to the beach area where we got to go for a dip and enjoy the beach for a few minutes. Then back to the headquarters where they had showers to really wash off. We purchased the photo package which are a steal compared to what the cruise charges. They took over 500 photos of our group of 6 and made us a compilation video. Totally worth it, in my opinion. Some tips if you're going: Bring a face cover or buy one there for $5 Wear stuff you don't mind getting filthy, including shoes (I went with water shoes and my husband went for Crocs) Don't bring anything that can't get wet or bring a waterproof bag to put your stuff in Go full speed when going through the puddles to get extra muddy! :)

There were ten in our group with ages from 13 to 80 looking for adventure. We chose this tour instead of a ship tour because it was not only less expensive, but it was less than a five-minute ride from outside the cruise port. It's a little bit of a walk to get outside the cruise port, but most of the walk is covered. There is no doubt that we made the right choice. Everyone was super helpful, accommodating, and friendly. Did we get dirty and wet? YES!!! We were dirty and drenched, but we never stopped laughing! I highly recommend bringing a waterproof pouch for phones and money and plan to leave a backpack behind with a change of clothes and/or shoes. Wear a bathing suit with old clothes over it and water shoes. If you are having fun, you will get drenched and dirty! We rode through villages where children were excited to see us and waved. We went through rivers, pastures, trails through the woods, and the beach. We stopped and had a sample of coffee and hot chocolate. We could shop for home-made items in the little store. There was absolutely no pressure to make a purchase. Near the end of the trip, we stopped at the beach for a break and went in the water for about twenty minutes. We could purchase all the photos that were taken at a reasonable price and received them via email a few days later. Everyone, including my 80-year-old mom, agreed the dune buggy ride was the highlight of our trip.

My husband and 15 year old teen daughter did this excursion and it was awesome! The company is literally five minutes away from the port so we felt assured that we would make it back in time. They do not have lockers but I felt comfortable leaving my things with everyone else’s in the common area while we went riding the dune buggies. I recommend you wear water shoes or crocs and comfortable clothes as you will get wet and dirty. The staff are amazing and ensured that we Got our moneys worth. It was very easy to drive the dune buggies. The photographer captures every moment and every turn during the excursion and you can purchase a package and a video and it will be sent to you within a few days. I am so glad we decided to purchase it because the pictures came out amazing. I highly recommend this excursion!

This was the best excursion I have taken thus far while cruising. We got lucky and were the only ones who had booked at the time we were going and had the guide and photographer to ourselves. They were both WONDERFUL. So nice and friendly. They made this a once-in-a-lifetime experience in such a beautiful, beautiful place. Excursion is exactly as described. We were able to get 100+ photos and videos for a GREAT price (the large amount of photos and videos could have been because we were the only ones). If you choose this excursion, you will not regret it.

This was a fun trip for me and my 19 year old son. I let him drive, and I tried to take pictures. They take you on a path that crosses a river a few times. Take it at speed, and you will get soaked, which we did. Then you drive along the road for awhile and stop at a stand where they make cigars. If you smoke, you can also try them out. From there we headed to a beach where we could wash the dust and mud off. Then you back track across the river (which we took slower this time) back to their garage. Do not take anything with you that cannot get wet. I bought a plastic phone protector from them, and that was the best $5 I have ever spent. They also sell bandanas to keep out the dust, which you will need. We also wish we had worn water shoes as our shoes got soaked. We also needed to get a shower when we got back to our ship. Was a fun time.

OUR GUIDE WAS THE BEST! he allowed us to just barrel through all the puddles. We had the best time.iIT RAINED ALL DAY THAT DAY WHICH MADE MIT EVEN BETTER. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DO IT. WAS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN GOING THROUGH A CRUISE LINE ALSO. A LOT LESS! MY ONLY REGRET WAS OUR GUIDE TOOK A VIDEO ON HIS PHONE AND WE CANT GET THEM!SO IF ANYONE FROM THE SHOP READS THIS CAN WE GET THE VIDEO? WE WERE THERE ON APRIL 21, THE FIRST GROUP 8 AM. WE ENDED UP GOING OUT WITH JUST TWO BUGGIES.

We had a great time on this excursion and it was well worth it. Was a little nervous once we had to walk out the gate from the cruise port which was about 15 minutes to meet the the company, however the drive was so nice and welcoming. Once we got to the destination, they got us ready and gave us instructions…then we were off. I feel bad I don’t remember our tour guides or photographer’s name but they were all awesome fellas. I didn’t time it because we were having so much fun, but it felt like 2 hours plus. Drove down unpaved roads and through mud puddles, so if you don’t want to get dirty this is not for you, but you only live once so live in the moment. Watching how they make cigars was interesting and you even get to smoke them if you want and they share a taste of their special drink. We finally ended up at the beach where we could see our cruise ship, simply breathtaking. We purchased pictures they took of us during the excursion and they came out beautiful. Would definitely do this excursion again.

This was the best excursion we did on our recent trip that included Bahamas, Dominican Republic and Grand Turk. It is definitely for the adventure seeker. My only complaint was it was a little tricky to find the pickup destination. You have to leave the security gate outside of the port, which was a little bit of a walk. The sidewalks were easy to follow though, just keep going until you get outside the main gate and the trucks are waiting for you there along with some other excursions. We didn't know what to expect and were a little unsure on what to wear and what to take with us. You will want closed toe shoes. My husband and I wore Keens that worked perfectly! Your shoes will get wet and muddy, so don't wear anything white and/or new! This goes for clothes as well. Old black attire is preferred. We were up in the air on whether to take our back packs, sunglasses, wallets, phones, etc...I do not recommend taking any of those things unless you have a Dry Bag! The staff was excellent! I felt very safe and felt they cared about our safety as well. You will ride on moderately trafficked roads, but the buggies are able to keep up with traffic and many times even exceed traffic flow. The majority of roads in the Dominican are unpaved and very rough! It was eye opening to travel through the back roads and see the civilian life of a 3rd world country. It's not for the faint at heart to see the living conditions, children at school and skinny animals roaming the streets. The views at the top of the mountain were breathtaking. This is where scenes from Jurassic Park were filmed. You will go through about 5-6 "mud holes" and it's up to you at what speed you want to barrel through! We went full throttle and it was thrilling! I can't say enough good things about our guides, especially Darlin, "The Paparazzi"! He travels along with the group stopping to take pictures and videos that are available for purchase at the end, if you want. He was very funny and engaging at the stops. We did purchase the photos and videos for what we felt was a fair cost and glad we did! I definitely recommend this for all of the adventure and thrill seekers!

We always book our excursions outside of the cruise lines. This was our first visit to Amber Cove. We have two teenage boys', so we are looking for things adventurous. The buggy tour was amazing. We had a blast. It was very well managed and the buggys were like new. Very well maintained. We got to blast thru mud and rode for three hours. The tour guides were amazing. They also have a camera guy follow you and offer a video and great photos at the end of the tour. A very reasonable tour and great value.

We had so much fun! The pick up location had us worried because we needed to walk all the way out of the port. The tour totally made up for the walk! We went though huge puddles of water and mud and got soaked. Our guide was awesome. We did 1 buggy and switched drivers half way through. We saw beautiful views of the country. We got to see how cigars were made. I would recommend bringing plenty of cash or else there is an 18% fee for card. The photo package is worth it! We got over 200 photos and a video. Also bring towels and dry clothes.

We 100% recommend excursions with Marysol Tours and photography by Paparazzi Productions! We showed up in Amber Cove and we were picked up by our super friendly tour guide, Mr. Caliente!! He took us on a quick (under 5 minute) drive to where we took off on the buggy’s. After paying the remaining balance for our tour, we were fitted into our safety helmets and goggles. We jumped into our buggy’s and started our tour around the beautiful area including mountains, beaches, rivers we crossed and splashed through, met some animals, smoked a local cigar (and saw some hand rolled!), tried some local coffee and swam in the ocean! Caliente was amazing and funny, and Coly our photographer was amazing! He caught all the angles of our buggy adventure and sent us a full video of our experience from start to finish with music added! I couldn’t recommend these two and the company enough!
