See all the best sites and highlights of the French Riviera in this full-day, guided small-group shore excursion from the Cannes cruise ship terminal!
After tendering to shore, you will meet your driver/guide. In an exclusive excursion group of no more than eight guests, you will depart Cannes, following the motorway to reach the Medieval hilltop town of Eze, approximately 50 minutes away. Your experienced guide will provide interesting facts, and here you will have approximately 20 minutes to take photos of the town or browse the shops at the base.
Next, a short visit is made to the nearby Fragonard perfume, soap, and cosmetics factory. You will have a short guided visit and the staff on hand will explain how to choose a fragrance that is right for you.
Continue through the hills to the hillside village of La Turbie. You will stop for a photo overlooking the town and the ruins of the 6th century BC Tropaeum Alpium, (Trophy of the Alps) erected by Roman Emperor Augustus.
From here, it's a short drive to the Riviera's lap of luxury, Monaco. Your first stop will be the Rock where you will have amazing panoramic views. You will also have an exterior visit of the Royal Prince Palace where each day at 11:55 AM they have the changing of the guard. A short walk away is the Cathedral, the final resting place of Prince Rainier and Princess Grace.
You will take a quick drive over to Casino Square. There is time for a quick photo of the exterior of the casino with the endless lineup of exotic and luxury cars lined up in front along with the Hotel de Paris and the Cafe de Paris.
After driving along a portion of the Grand Prix circuit, you will depart Monte Carlo and drive 40 minutes to the artistic town of St. Paul de Vence. In the 1920s, the richness and intensity of the light, colors, and scenery in this area attracted artists, including Signac, Picasso, and Matisse. The film world discovered the village in the 1950s as both a filming location and an actor hideaway. You will have approximately 60 minutes to wander this intriguing maze of stone pedestrian streets, courtyards, and squares dotted with artist's shops and cafes. Maybe catch the locals playing boules, a type of outdoor bowling!
Departing the hills, it is approximately a 30-minute drive to the coast and the popular old town of Antibes. Your Cannes shore excursion guide will drive you along the ancient walls giving you some of the histories of the town. Rich in history, it is now a hot spot for the ultra-rich to dock their mega yachts in the scenic harbor. If time and traffic allow, a stop will be made for photos.
You will head back on the short 20-minute drive to Cannes for a drive along La Croisette, a must-see. This main boulevard separates the endless beach clubs on one side and glitzy designer shops, famous hotels, and landmarks on the other.
A photo stop is made outside of the Palais des Festivals building, home each May to the Cannes Film Festival. Poise on the steps just like the stars! From here, it is a 10-minute drive back to your Cannes cruise ship tender pier.
