You'll start your day by meeting your driver at your Villefranche cruise tender port. Once you and the other guests have been checked in, you will hop aboard the transportation. Please note that this is not a private excursion. Your first stop is at Eze, famous for the breathtaking views of the sea and Alps from its hilltop. This small medieval village is also renowned for its beauty and charm with many shops, art galleries, hotels, and restaurants. Here you'll have a guided visit to the Parfumeria Fragonard - perfume factory – to learn how it's made and discover some trade secrets. Your stop in Eze is approximately 1.5 hours including the stop at the perfume factory.
Then relax and enjoy the scenery on the way to Monaco. You'll pass through la Turbie, a small village that appears to float in the sky and is guarded by the Trophee d'Auguste, a trophy structure built 2000 years ago to celebrate the emperor Augustus's victory over the Alps tribes. When you arrive in Monaco, feel yourself surrounded by luxury; a sovereign city-state, country, and microstate on the French Riviera. Visit the old town with its cathedral, Saint Nicholas Cathedral, a Roman-Byzantine style building with the burial sites of past princes. See the Monte Carlo Casino where you can rub elbows with the wealthy who've come to gamble or enjoy some theater. You can imagine driving the Grand Prix circuit with lots of elevation changes, tight corners, and a tunnel. Have a look from outside at the Prince's Palace, originally a fortress, and the official residence of the Grimaldi family since the end of the 13th century. Opulence at its best! Enjoy your 1.5-hour stop in this legendary spot of the world's elite class.
As you continue your way to Nice, you'll sightsee the commune of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, with its mild Mediterranean climate, making it a famous playground for the aristocracy and millionaires. Nestled at the foot of the Alps on the Mediterranean and the capital of the French Riviera is an important tourist destination, the beautiful Nice. You will have approximately 1.5 hours to wander the old town with narrow cobblestone streets and pastel-colored Sardinian (Italian-influenced) buildings. It bustles with shops selling soaps, textiles, meats, cheese, and a daily market with produce and flowers. The streets are lined with souvenir shops, pubs, and restaurants. Soak in the atmosphere.
