    • The minimum age to participate is 6 years old.
    • The minimum age for alcohol consumption is 18 years old. 
    • Guests under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent.
    • Guests must fit comfortably in one seat only on the bus/van.
    • This excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
    • All participants must be able to stand and walk completely unassisted and be able to navigate narrow streets; uneven terrain declines/inclines and sandy areas.

    Are lockers available at the Blue JackTar Hotel on Golden Beach Playa Dorada?
    Unfortunately there are no lockers, however, the area is very safe but normal precautions should be taken. If you prefer, you can leave your belongings in your excursion vehicle which will be locked.
    Are there activities and water sports available at Playa Dorada?
    Yes, Playa Dorada offers activities and rentals such as windsurfing, snorkeling, kayaking, parasailing, diving, and more. All these activities are at the client's own expense.
    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Amber Cove Puerto Plata Highlights and Blue JackTar Beach Resort Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?
    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.

My husband and I took this excursion with my in-laws and another couple in November 2023. This tour led by Alex was the highlight of our cruise!! Alex was friendly and very knowledgeable. The time at each stop on the tour was more than adequate! The sights were amazing and he was able to answer all of our questions. Transportation was comfortable as well. 10/10 experience!

Such a great time with Henry, Misreal, and Daniel! So glad we decided to do this one! We got a little tour of the island which was enough for our first time here. Henry was a great guide amd very informative about his native island. We were the only one from our group who went to the beach so they actually had one of our guides stay with us at the beach til the bus came back with the others from the rest of their tour. That made us more at ease because we knew for sure we wouldn't be forgotten and left behind :). We had about 2 hrs on the beach which was just enough time for us. Plenty of chairs, umbrellas, and those comfy beach beds, with excellent food if you wanted a snack or lunch. Very relaxing...only a few beach people came up to ask us to buy things but they weren't pushy and moved on if see said no thanks. When they arrived to pick us up from the beach we were greeted with all the rum punch we wanted and had a fun ride on our way back to the ship! We stopped for a photo at the Neptune statue and Henry got us all bananas from a local stand. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS!!!!

The walk to get to the meeting point was a lot further than we anticipated but once we got there it was wonderful. The guide took us around pointing out historical places. There was several pushy people in the markets surrounding the stops but the guide did a good job of interfering when they wouldn't stop at "no thank you". We visited right after a storm so the beach wasn't real clean and the waves were too rough but it would probably be perfect if we have went a few days later. The waiter came through often and the food/drinks were good. We would definitely revisit.

This was our favorite Excursion of our whole cruise. We had Wi-Fi and water when we arrived to the bus. Everyone was so amazing and friendly. The tour was informative and fun. We had VIP service from start to finish. When we arrived the Blue JackTar Beach resort we had beautiful beach beds, the drinks and food were excellent. On the way back to the port we stopped for fresh bananas. They were delicious. I can't say enough good things about the people and this tour. Will definitely take this tour again when I am back in Amber Cove.

Perfect combination, exploring and beach time. Our guide Milton was great. A guide that enjoys their job really makes a difference. He was very knowledgeable about the area and did not rush us in each spot. While we were at the malecon a few local vendors would salute Milton and everyone was friendly. Our time at the resort was the best way to end our day. There were not a lot of hotel guests so we had the service and amenities basically all to ourselves. The staff was great and the rum kept on coming! Love the variety of the menu. Not your typical "touristy" meals but had a variety of seafood platters and dips.

Really enjoyed the city tour and for the JackTar beach resort we had such a great time we decided to stay a little bit longer and we just paid a cab back to our port. Food, service, drinks, activities, everything you need for a relaxing day at a super price!

This tour was amazing, all the stop in the highlight were very interesting and our guide provided a lot of important facts about the culture and country. After that, we visited a nice beach hotel, very clean and had an open airy feeling. We had some amazingly fresh and very tasty lunch at the beach.
