    Excursion Notes
      • Excursion prices shown are quoted in US dollars.
      • As you may be visiting a religious or memorial site, shoulders and knees must be covered for men and women.
      • We suggest you have cash (Euros) on hand for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
      • Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
      • Please note that admission or entrance fees to the attractions/museums, etc are not included.
      • Mobile or Paper vouchers are accepted.
      • Most of the buses are wheelchair accessible. The buses cannot safely accommodate two or more occupied wheelchairs, so if there is already a wheelchair user on the bus that you want to board, unfortunately, you’ll need to wait for the next bus. The wheelchair spaces accommodate wheelchairs measuring up to 70 cm wide, 120 cm long, and 135 cm high. If your wheelchair is larger than this it will not be possible to fit into our buses.
      • Please note that if you arrive from May to September you will be able to board the Hop on-Hop Off Reykjavik bus at the cruise terminal, stop 15 Skarfabakki Harbour which is about 70 meters walking distance. During the winter season, you will need to board at stop 1.
    Excursion Restrictions
    • Fold-up wheelchairs can be accommodated on the lower level of the bus only.
    • Many sites in the city are not wheelchair accessible.
    • Guests must be able to navigate a narrow steep staircase to access the top deck of the bus.
    • Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel, and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines at most stops.
    • There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.
    • Seating on the bus is on a first come basis.
    • Excursion tickets are only valid on City Sightseeing buses. Unused tickets or tickets presented to another operator are non-refundable.
    • As there is no specific end time for the excursion, it is the guest's responsibility to know their ship's scheduled departure time and plan their day to be back on board at the appointed time.

    Will they cancel if it is raining?
    The Reykjavik excursion operates rain or shine, within safety guidelines. The buses include covered areas on the lower deck and many also include electric roofs over the top deck in case of inclement weather.
    Will there be restrooms?
    Restrooms are located near each bus stop. In Europe, a small package of tissues is suggested as public restrooms may or may not have toilet paper. Most public restrooms require a small fee. Having a few local coins is highly recommended, as they do not always make a change.
    Is there shopping time included in this Reykjavik Hop-On Hop-Off City Sightseeing Excursion?
    Shopping time is completely up to you. You decide how you want to spend your time.
    Can I use my Reykjavik City Sightseeing ticket on any on/off bus?
    Your ticket is only valid on the Reykjavik City Sightseeing buses. Unfortunately, other buses have accepted City Sightseeing tickets and then charged the guests extra once on board. There is no refund for unused tickets or tickets presented to the wrong operator.
    Can I use US dollars?
    Most large stores and restaurants will take major credit cards and some may take other currencies besides the Euro. Small stores restaurants or sidewalk vendors will usually only take local currency. The best exchange rates for currency are usually at major bank ATMs. The worst rates are at the airport, train stations, or exchange bureaus located in major excursionist areas. Before leaving home, please check with your credit card companies and banks on what transaction or other fees they may apply if you use a debit or credit card abroad. These are in addition to the fees applied by the vendor or host bank where you are using the card.
    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Reykjavik Hop-On Hop-Off City Sightseeing Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?
    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
    Cancellation

    For the Reykjavik Hop-On Hop-Off City Sightseeing Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.

    For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:

    • Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
    • Your ship skips/misses the port.
    • Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
    • A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
    • Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
    • Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

I took the full loop and it was one of the best choices we made the whole cruise. The weather was awesome and we sat on the top deck. The staff is very friendly and you end up with a very good general idea of the city of Reykjavik. It worth it.

The hop on hop off is a great way to see alot of Reykjavik in just one day. We choose to be at the top where you can see everything 360. It was tricky trying to pronounce the name of the stops along the way. My favorite was the church where we hopped off and we took hundreds of pictures. Iceland is simply amazing, you need to see this place at least once in your life.

Reykjavik is not a city famous to be inexpensive so this excursion was a pleasant surprise being that is was super affordable and we learned and stop at the most important points of the city. You feel amazed every second, everything is so different! It really is a bargain at the price and for all of the great stuff you can see. Totally recommended.

What is more exciting than Iceland? Well, to have the chance to stop is several of the most important points in Reykjavik. The bus is comfortable and everything ran on time. It was super easy to find when we arrived in port. PLEASE, don't forget to bring enough euros, we missed that part and couldn't buy as many things as we wanted.

Was really excited when we booked this excursion. We are New Yorkers and used to the cold weather, but not so used to this much landcape and calmness. Such a clean city wih gorgeous mountains and lagoons. Our tour narration mentioned it's one of the safest and cleanest places on earth. We learned so much during our visit but was sad we did not get to see the famous northern lights since our cruise did not stay the night. For sure next time!
