    Excursion Notes
      • Excursion prices shown are quoted in US dollars.
      • As you may be visiting a religious or memorial site, shoulders and knees must be covered for men and women.
      • We suggest you have cash (Euros) on hand for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
      • Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
      • Please note that admission or entrance fees to the attractions/museums, etc are not included.
    Excursion Restrictions
    • Fold-up wheelchairs can be accommodated on the lower level of the bus only.
    • Many sites in the city are not wheelchair accessible.
    • Guests must be able to navigate a narrow steep staircase to access the top deck of the bus.
    • Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines at most stops.
    • There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.
    • Seating on the bus is on a first come basis.
    • Excursion tickets are only valid on City Sightseeing buses. Unused tickets or tickets presented to another operator are non-refundable.
    • As there is no specific end time the excursion, it is the guest's responsibility to know their ships scheduled departure time and plan their day to be back on board at the appointed time.
    Frequently Asked Questions
    Will they cancel if it is raining?
    The Porto excursion operates rain or shine, within safety guidelines. The buses include covered areas on the lower deck and many also include electric roofs over the top deck in case of inclement weather.
    Will there be restrooms?
    Restrooms are located near each bus stop. In Europe, a small package of tissues is suggested as public restrooms may or may not have toilet paper. Most public restrooms require a small fee. Having a few local coins is highly recommended, as they do not always make change.
    Is there shopping time included?
    Shopping time is completely up to you. You decide how you want to spend your time.
    Can I use my City Sightseeing ticket on any on/off bus?
    Your ticket is only valid on the City Sightseeing buses. Unfortunately, other buses have accepted City Sightseeing tickets and then charged the guests extra once on board. There is no refund for unused tickets or tickets presented to the wrong operator.
    Can I use US dollars?
    Most large stores and restaurants will take major credit cards and some may take other currencies besides the Euro. Small stores restaurants or sidewalk vendors will usually only take local currency. The best exchange rates for currency are usually at major bank ATMs. The worst rates are at the airport, train stations or exchange bureaus located in major excursionist areas. Before leaving home, please check with your credit card companies and banks on what transaction or other fees they may apply if you use a debit or credit card abroad. These are in addition to the fees applied by the vendor or host bank where you are using the card.
    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Porto Hop On Hop Off City Sightseeing Bus Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?
    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
    Cancellation

    For the Porto Hop On Hop Off City Sightseeing Bus Excursion,we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if:

    • You want to cancel at any time, for any reason, before or after your arrival. Simply contact us via email reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com within 14 days of your missed excursion date for a deposit refund.
    • Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location.
    • Your ship misses/skips the port.
    • Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator to run the excursion.
    • A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the tour operator or guest may send doctor's note).
    • Cancellations that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund. Guests must notify us within 14 days after their excursion date via email for requesting a refund of booking payment made to Shore Excursioneer.
    • Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

I would highly recommend this excursion to everybody. It is totally worth it! Good value to my money and all my family had a great time. We loved it! It was perfect for my parents who have some mobility issues. And you get to see what YOU want to see not what the tour operator takes you to. There is so much flexibility.

My mom uses a wheelchair, so as soon as we noticed this is wheelchair accessible, it became a must! The cruise line was unable to assist us with anything they had. We do not regret it, the bus is top-notch, the air-conditioned deck was comfortable and protected us from the sun. We hop off in only 2 stops since my brother and I were assisting our mom, but did not stop us from having fun. We really had a great time as a family.

This is an excellent way to get an overall view of Porto. My boyfriend and I really enjoy hopping on and hopping off the bus. We visited several places we were interested in getting off at 3 of the stops. We did some shopping, we had lunch but just riding around on the bus was fun and the views were great.

It was the first time my husband and I did a hop on hop off tour. We were a little afraid but once we calculated our time we relaxed and starting to enjoy the tour. We wanted to visit the most important places in the city the map we downloaded from your webpage helped us make a plan for the day.

Our ship docked only a few hours at Porto so that ruled out many tours. We found this tour was the best for us if we wanted to see the city highlights. This was a great idea! Although we only decided to get off at just one stop, we really enjoyed having the freedom to stop at some places to buy souvenirs and food. We got to see some important sites and the map we were given on the bus was easy to follow. We definitely recommend this and will certainly consider doing something similar in other ports.

We hesitated about doing this tour because in the past we did a different type of hop on hop off tour and the bus was ancient. We were surprised to see that the buses for this one were top-notch. The bus was modern, very clean, and the seats were comfortable and the driver suggested us some stops. We loved it!

Just what we imagined, we had such a good time at the double-decker bus. My mom uses a wheelchair, so we decided to do the full loop without getting off the bus. We had no regrets, the city is outstanding.

We stayed at a hotel in Porto. For our first day at the city, we decided to do this hop on hop off tour after doing some searching online. We want to just to get an idea of what places to visit. My wife was so excited to do this tour, it was her first time. We are glad we choose this.

It was our first time cruising in Europe, so we decided to do this hop-on hop-off excursion to get to know the city. The views were amazing and we got off the bus at a few stops to see some highlights and to have lunch. We love that we could manage our time as we wanted and enjoyed doing this tour.
