Visit 2 of the most exotic locations on Maui - Iao Valley State Park and Maui Tropical Plantation. Spend some time strolling through a rainforest where you will see the wondrous beauty of Maui up close. Then ride a tram through the sights and scents of the Maui Tropical Plantation. You'll have the opportunity to visit and walk through wonderfully landscaped gardens and do a bit of shopping as well.

Begin this great day by meeting with your guide close to your Lahaina cruise ship pier. You'll be shown to comfortable and air-conditioned transportation for a narrated ride to the Iao Valley State Park. With over 6 acres of natural rainforest and tropical vegetation, you'll have the chance to just take a stroll on easy trails. We do recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes.

One of the most famous sights in the park is the Iao Needle. This is a lava remnant that is covered in vegetation and rises up to 2,250 feet (682 meters) above sea level. It is quite unique in both appearance and culture. The Hawaiians believe this formation represents the beginning of time. They believe it shows where land and water began along with the procreation between the Hawaiian gods Kane (provider of life) and Kanaloa (god of the underworld).

If you are a photo enthusiast this park will be filled with opportunities. Many exotic plants and tropical birds can help make for some gorgeous shots. Then, when it's time to leave, you will board your transportation again for the scenic ride to the Maui Tropical Plantation.

Once you've arrived at the plantation you'll board a tram. Then you can kick back and enjoy a fully narrated 35 minutes of unbelievable sights. You will never have seen such lush foliage. The Maui Tropical Plantation is covered with tropical flowers, vines, and trees along with fruit fields and flower orchards. You'll get the chance to see coffee, bananas, macadamia nuts, papayas, mangoes, orchids, and more. This is an incredibly unique tram ride.

Once the tram ride has ended, you can stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens. Afterward, you can do a bit of shopping in their quaint gift shop. Maybe you'll find that perfect souvenir. Once you're finished shopping you will board your comfortable transportation again and be driven back to your Lahaina cruise ship pier.
