    For the Juneau Mendenhall Lake Kayak Adventure Excursion, you will meet your local canoe excursion guide right in the Juneau cruise pier area. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

    Excursion Notes
      • Prices displayed include all taxes and fees.
      • Guests must be able to climb in/out of the kayak.
      • We suggest bringing a zip-tight bag for cameras and other items that might get splashed.
      • There are basic restrooms.
      • The maximum weight is approximately 275 lbs.
      • This is based on waist size to fit into the kayak’s 35” x 17” cockpit (hip to hip 17" and front to back 35")
      • Children must weigh at least 40 pounds to fit into required life jackets.
      • Please pay attention to the restrictions and requirements for this excursion, if the shore excursion's requirements are not met, no refund will be granted.
      • We recommend wearing layers with the top layer being waterproof. The closer you get to the glacier, the cooler the air temperature. 
      • Please wear sensible walking/hiking shoes that may get wet.
      • We suggest you have cash for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
    Excursion Restrictions
    • This excursion is not wheelchair accessible.
    • Guests should be in moderate to good physical health.
    • Maximum weight is 275lbs (125Kg) and is dependent on waist size to fit into the kayak cockpit.
    • Children need to weigh a minimum of 40lbs (18Kg).
    • Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
    • Children ages 13-17 must have a signed parental consent form to participate in the absence of a parent or guardian.
    • Pregnant women up to 10 weeks should check with their doctor before booking this excursion. Women 10 weeks or over should not participate in this excursion.

    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
    Cancellation

    For the Juneau Mendenhall Lake Kayak Adventure Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 7 days prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.

    For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:

    • Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
    • Your ship skips/misses the port.
    • Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
    • A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
    • Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
    • Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

This was the excursion I was so looking forward to - I like outdoor adventures, but I was concerned about being able to kayak for the entire duration of the tour. It ended up being my favorite activity on our Alaskan trip! Our guide, was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout the tour, answering our many questions and making it a fun, and relaxed experience. I really appreciated that we never felt rushed and really enjoyed the experience. Simply loved kayaking in Alaska!
