Explore the tropical waters of the Pacific Ocean at two of Maui's best snorkeling spots, Molokini and Turtle Town on this full day snorkel excursion.
After pickup from your Kahului Maui cruise pier, you will transfer to the boat dock located on the island's west coast, approximately 30 minutes drive from the cruise pier. Here you will board your 65 foot (19.8 meters) motorized catamaran that holds up to 149 guests. The boat features an air-conditioned main cabin with restrooms and open deck topside, great for viewing or sunbathing. There is an extra large swim step for very easy water access and fresh water rinse off showers.
Settle in on-board and enjoy a continental breakfast of baked goods, fresh fruits, fruit juice, fresh brewed coffee or tea, as you motor south to the first snorkeling site. Your onboard crew will give you a narration of the islands as well as snorkel instruction along the way.
Molokini, is a partially submerged volcanic cinder cone that reaches to a height of 161 feet (50 meters) at its highest point. The uninhabited island is approximately 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) off the southwest coast of Maui. Its crescent shape makes a perfect protected bay from waves and currents, which means clearer water. A large reef is home to more than 200 species of fish.
The crew will pass out your snorkeling gear, show you how to use it and then assist you into the water for a guided snorkel.
After approximately 45 minutes at the Molokini Marine Reserve, you will hop back on the boat and motor to a second snorkel location (weather depending) off the south coast of Maui called Turtle Town. Although marine and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, the large population of Hawaiian green sea turtles in this area certainly increases your chances. Enjoy another great snorkel spot with your guide. When you have completed your snorkeling, you will relax on the catamaran.
As the boat motors along the scenic Makena, Wailea and Kihei coastlines, you will enjoy a lunch buffet including sandwiches, cheese slices, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, condiments, and rolls so you can make your own sandwich. Complete the meal with salad and cookies. An open bar is available after the last snorkeling stop offering soda, juice, beer, wine, and mai-tais.
All snorkel gear and instruction, including optical mask and flotation devices (boogie boards and noodles), is included. Available for rent or purchase are shorty wetsuits ($10.00 USD), disposable underwater cameras, souvenir T-shirts, hats and underwater videos.
The catamaran will take you back to the pier for your return trip to your Kahului Maui cruise pier.
