    For this Amber Cove Puerto Plata Playa Dorada Beach Break Excursion, you will meet a short 10-minute walk outside your Amber Cove Puerto Plata cruise ship pier in the Dominican Republic. All the necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

    Excursion Notes
      • We suggest bringing along sun protection, a swimsuit, a change of clothes, towels, a camera, cash for balance payment and to purchase food, drinks, tips, shopping items, etc.
      • The use of the swimming pool may be restricted, please ask your local shore excursion host.
      • Please consider if part of your group are no-shows the local vendor may still charge you for them.

We definitely wanted to have a relaxing time on a sandy beach as we always dream off. Well, this was our best day spending our day in the famous Playa Dorada. The beach is very nice and clean, with lots of lounge chairs and shaded areas available as well as restaurants. We pick our place and enjoy our day in paradise!

This was the most enjoyable shore excursion of our cruise. Somehow I signed up for the wrong excursion. What we wanted was the City Highlights with a Jack Tarr Beach Excursion. The local company manager allowed us to take the one we intended to take. Interesting city highlights and all the beach time we needed. Our tour leader (Rosie) brought along a cooler of rum punch and stopped at a market to get everyone bananas. Other than the “hike” to the meet up point, all was great.

What a way to spend Christmas Eve. The staff and crew all speak English & are very kind and friendly. The instructions where clear and easy to understand. What you read Was what you got and then some. Rosie, one of our guides, was very sweet served home made rum punch on the ride there and back also stopped and got us local bananas on the way back to the port. It was a very great excision.

As a first time cruiser, I was a little nervous about booking anything outside of the cruise company itself but Im glad I did! This was a great, straight to the point trip to a beautiful beach resort. The ride to the beach is maybe about 15-20 min. During the ride the guide goes over history of the country. I looovveedd the lounge BEDS thats on the beach. All of the guides were highly professional and personable. If you are looking for just a straight up beach excursion to chill during your port stop to Amber Cove, this is it!!! Make sure you get off your ship as soon as it docks because the walk to get to the meeting point is quite long. My husband and I ended up having to catch a taxi just to make sure we met them on time because we were running a little late.

This was an absolutely wonderful day in the sun. The beach was really nice, the staff very accommodating and plenty of chairs! The walk from the port to the excursion pick up is a little long so be sure to watch your time. Our driver and guide were great and even treated us to some tasty beverages on the way back! Would do this excursion again.

Not sure if it was our lucky day but our party of 15 were the only ones on the tour and we were greeted by Milton who took us on a small detour through the malecon for pictures : ) He also had some rum for us to get us started! Milton waited until we were checked in and told us what time he would be back to pick us up. At the resort the staff was always attentive. The resort is 5*, very clean. Oceanfront view and comfortable beach beds (not your usual plastic loungers!) Time flew but was well spent. When Milton came back for us, he took us on another detour to Fort San Felipe! Totally unexpected and made our first visit even more special!

We did this excursion last year but it was a different one (also booked through Shore Excursioneer). It included a small tour/picture stops around the island + Blue JackTar. We liked the resort so much we decided to return but saw this one that was mainly time at the Blue JackTar. We forfeited our round trip transportation back to the port and just took a taxi back because we just love it here! There's no better place to be in Amber Cove! You get full access to everything (except the pool but it's ok since you have the ocean front!), wifi, and the food and drinks are the best that there is on the island! The staff will pamper you all day! It's doesn't get overbooked like most and you have the best view! We will be returning for years to come!

We loooovvveee the Blue JackTar Hotel and the driver/guide from (tour operator) already know us and everytime we return they have our favorite spot reserved : ) Shore Excursioneer always has our confirmation ready and the best thing is not worrying about transportation to and from the resort.
