    For the Costa Maya Private Sport Deep Sea Fishing Excursion, you will meet after a 5-minute taxi ride away from your Costa Maya Cruise Terminal. All necessary details will be printed on your Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket.

For our fishing excursions, no experience is necessary, your fishing crew will assist you in any way, whether you want to do it all yourselves or only catch the fish, we focus on your satisfaction. You can prepare the bait, set the lines, etc, hook the fish, get it on board, fillet, cook, all you want or just enjoy fighting a tough ocean fish.
    Do you use live bait?
    We use two different kinds of bait, depending on the ocean, weather, and fishing area. What is referred to as live bait is not fish that is alive and used as bait, but real fish that was deep frozen or plastic bait.

    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Costa Maya Private Deep Sea Fishing Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?
    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
    Cancellation

    For the Costa Maya Private Deep Sea Fishing Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.

    For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:

    • Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
    • Your ship skips/misses the port.
    • Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
    • A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
    • Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
    • Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

We had a wonderful couple of hours on the water with (the captain) and 10 minutes after we left shore we had the first catch, a barracuda!! We caught a total of 2 nice size barracudas and had a 3rd bite but that one fought itself off the hook. After we arrived back to the beach, (his) wife cooked the fish for us and we had fish tacos. All in all we got more then we expected and we had a wonderful time on the water. We can only recommend to go on this excursion!!

We spend some hours in Costa Maya while cruising on the Caribbean and wanted something unique to do away from the crowds. The crew was ready to go when our taxi dropped us off. Two people in our party of 3 caught fish but we all had a great time. We had time afterwards to take our catch to be prepared in a local restaurant on the beach and it was delicious!

So shore excursioneer asks for our ship details and knows all about the times we port any everything. With that being said we book this excursion because it showed up as available while we are ported and come to find out we missed an hour of it because it started at 2 local time and not ship time even though we ported at 230 local time. Very disappointing. Thankfully we got an hour on the boat to catch one fish but the description says there will be water, soda, and beer on boat and all they said they offer is water. This was a very misleading excursion and will probably never book with shore excursioneer again.

My son and husband did the deep sea fishing and I got to go along. They had a fun day trying to pull in fish on the line while I was just relaxing on the boat. Thanks to mother nature they caught some fish! This was as much of a great experience for my 16 year old son as it was for my husband and I.

My kids absolutely loved doing this excursion! The boat was on the smaller side but it got the job done for our family of 4. We had 2 crew members that set up the 3 lines that were being used while trolling. When a line got a bite one of us would hop up and start reeling them in. In the end we ended up catching 6 barracuda! Everything that was caught was kept. They actually cooked one of the fish up for us when we were done fishing---freshest fish taco's ever! We would definitely recommend this excursion! It is a great experience, and it was nice that it was an affordable private charter.

Reeled in a grande dorado (Mahi-Mahi). Seriously a great experience. The guides were very professional and did everything. All we had to do was reel it in (no easy task). I recommend this excursion if you want to do any off shore fishing. The price was perfect, I've payed a lot more for a lot less fun on fishing charters before.

I suggest if you are interested in fishing in Mexico that you get familiar with trolling style fishing. I am used to fishing in lakes and rivers and this was the first time I have been deep sea fishing. The boat never stops and the lines are pulled behind the boat. I got to hold the rod when a fish struck the line and was hooked. The fishing was good and I caught a couple of tuna that we took to Luna restaurant on the beach and they cooked one for us. I enjoyed the trip and hope to try fishing again here sometime.
