Here's the perfect way to spend a day with just your family, or closest friends on a private excursion, which means that only your group will be together for the airboat ride and the walk through the Sawgrass Recreation Park. Another perk of the private excursion is you can book a specific time on your airboat and schedule your walk in the park around that. You'll even have the opportunity to schedule a longer airboat ride if you'd prefer. This is a truly memorable experience.
Your group will begin this day by taking a taxi from your Ft. Lauderdale cruise ship pier or local hotel/resort to the Everglades Park. Then, once you arrive, a park representative will greet you and confirm the time of your airboat departure. Although the time on an airboat is typically 30 minutes, your private party will enjoy a full 60 minutes. There are a variety of sizes of airboats as well, up to 15, to accommodate your group. Also, when booking a private Fort Lauderdale airboat excursion, you can choose when to roam the exhibits that include such tropical wonders as a Florida panther, colorful snakes, black leopards, alligators, and more, either before, or after your airboat experience. If you have any questions, while in the park, you can ask the supervisors who keep an eye on the exhibits. They will be able to answer questions you may have about the animal, preservation techniques, and much more.
Once your time arrives for the airboat, your party will walk to the docking area and the airboat excursion captain will welcome you aboard. You will be provided with ear protection as the airboats can be loud. However, throughout your 60-minute ride through the Everglades, your experienced captain will slow the boat down to point out highlights and explain what you are seeing so you'll be able to hear him during these times.
As you glide along, be sure to keep an eye out for a variety of glade birds including egrets and herons, the white Ibis, and the spoonbill. You'll also get the chance to see alligators, turtles, a variety of nests, and more. Your captain will make a point of going where wildlife has been observed before and your airboat shore excursion captain will know the perfect spots to look.

Your group is welcome to spend more time at the Sawgrass Exhibits, there is a restaurant where you can purchase tasty and then take a taxi back to the Fort Lauderdale cruise pier or local hotel/resort at their leisure.
