You'll start this great day just outside your Curacao cruise terminal when you meet with your guide. Then you can either discuss with him your ideas or have them in hand and you'll be taken wherever you wish. Please keep in mind, entrance fees and lunch are not included, but you can ask the driver to suggest a location for a great lunch. Then you will get into your air-conditioned transportation and head out (the vehicle will depend on your group size either an SUV or a 14-passenger van).
Curacao has so much to offer that you might have trouble selecting which sites you want to visit. There's the historic area of Willemstad, one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. This was merely a trading settlement at a natural harbor that began back in 1634. But, the town just kept on growing, for centuries. Thankfully, there are several unique districts with architecture that reflects styles from the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal. Kept well preserved these always make for great photo opportunities.
Then there's Shete Boka Park. This is a National Park where you will discover the rugged countryside, waves thundering into caverns, and steps cut into the rocks that will lead you straight down into the mouth of one of the caverns. Just kick back and watch the surf rumble in. Then walk along limestone bluffs for a fantastic view of Curacao's even more rugged north coast. If snorkeling is more your style, there is a great spot on the eastern side of Caracas Bay, the Tug Boat. It's a small wreck but it is covered in sponges and colorful corals. This is the home of parrot fish and yellowtail snappers, maybe you are even lucky and see some seahorses! You can always ask your driver to take you to the West side of the island to explore different snorkeling sites. Just indicate on your order that you will need snorkel gear and it will be provided.
For true history buffs, there is Fort Beekenburg. This fort was built to defend the Spanish Water in 1703. At that time, it was one of the few places where one could go easily from sea to land. It was money well spent because the fort kept the British and pirates out of Curacao.
Finally, if you are a museum lover, you have 8 separate choices. You can select from the Savonet Museum to the Kura Hulanda. There is a Jewish Heritage Museum and a Catholic Fort Church Museum. Maritime displays, the arts, and history, you can find it here in Curacao.
