Booked the tour to Uxmal for March 14, 2024. Directions for meeting up were easy to follow and accurate. Upon linking up, found out that the other patrons booked on my tour had canceled, so I had the tour all to myself! The van was cool and comfortable for the ride to Uxmal. Along the way, my guide Carlos provided a lot of information about the local area and the Yucatán as a whole. Carlos was quick to answer any questions with thorough and entertaining responses. The ride to the site took about 70 minutes. The site itself was truly amazing and I was utterly captivated! Carlos provided detailed and interesting narration about the structures on site, Mayan culture and answered all my questions as we strolled around the Uxmal site. Best tour I have ever been on and the site was only lightly populated with tourists. Pretty much had the place to ourselves. Overall it was the perfect excursion due to the site, tour guide, and minimal crowd. Take this excursion, you will love it!

Six women of Wyoming took the Carnival Valor cruise (5-nite) and elected to book the Uxmal excursion through Excursioneer. Have to agree that the trip from the pier to the "bus stop" was exciting, and to boot, the driver did not understand that we needed to go to the main bus stop, not the market place. We managed to find someone at the market place to direct us to the exit and the correct meeting place -- not. After ten minutes of standing on the street, a nice man took our reservation info and contacted Excursioneer, and we were found! From that point one, it was extraordinary. It is about and hour and a half to the ruins, but our guide, Misile, as absolutely marvelous. He maintained a professional demeanor without be stuffy, and was warm and funny. Misile told us so much history, especially regarding tracking the seasons, the days, the months. We did do some climbing and unclimbing, so be warned, it is a bit physical, but so worth it. When the tour was over, we stopped at a restaurant recommended by Misile, and OMG-- the food was to die for. Chicken and pork cooked in some sort of pit and so tender and moisture it was unreal. Also the salsa and chips were fresh (salsa had a bite). And then there were the cucarachas. You just need to experience that for yourself. We were back to the ship with time to spare, with one of the most memorable experiences of our lives.

We did this excursion with a group of 9 ranging in age from 18 to 80. It was SO SO nice to be in a private tour. Link up with our guide Raul was quick and easy. We were a few minutes late but he was there and we didnt have to wait for anyone. At the site the large tour groups seemed to just disperse but we had Raul with us the entire time sharing his HUGE amount of knowledge. So this tour was great because it was private, because Raul was awesome, and because I got the sense that Uxmal is much quieter than other ruin locations while being very very impressive. Do it!

We loved this excursion and our guide was very good. The only sketchy and scary part was from the ship until we found the Shore Excursioneer's meeting place. The city of Progreso was kind of scary and the bus that took us from the ship to Progreso did not drop us off where he was supposed to. Everyone on the bus was upset and things got heated. Luckily a random little old man looked at our ticket and walked us to the Shore Exursioneer meeting place. Without this man I dont know how we would have ever found our Shore Excursioneer guide. The man lead us through the streets of Progreso for about 10 min. and I felt scared. But the scariest part was the bus ride from the ship to city of Progeso. There is no handicap accessibility or accommodations at all. The road is very skinny and the drivers go way too fast. In the city of Progreso be prepared to be hounded and mauled by sellers. Friends of ours went to the public beach and they had no peace at all; the people chased them and mauled them trying to sell stuff. I dont know if it is possible but if ShoreExcursioneer met their clients at the ship and rode with them from the ship to the meeting place it would be better. The bus rides from the ship to Progreso are free; so it would have been nice to have our guide with us the during that part too. I say that because our Shore Excursioneeer guide was awesome! The ruins were awesome! The information the guide gave us was awesome! Take some water and maybe even snacks because its a long trip but it was totally worth it.

We had 8 in our group so this was a good price option. We had a little more flexibility as we were the only ones with our guide. It was more personal and we got to ask many questions that we might not get to do in a larger group. We would all recommend.
