Want to see all the best sights in one VIP excursion? Then look no further. You'll have the chance to do some great shopping at high-end duty-free shops. Then you'll enjoy the thrills of a river rafting adventure with a choice of rafting, tubing, river boarding, or kayaking. Your items will be kept locked up in your transportation for safety. On the river, you will be accompanied by an experienced guide for the entire exciting trip as you follow the current. Finally, you will enjoy time on a private beach with great food and an all-inclusive open bar. You'll be set up with comfortable beach chairs in your own private section and will have over an hour to take in the gorgeous scenery.

This excursion begins when you meet your friendly guide just outside your Montego Bay cruise ship pier. You'll be shown to small buses that will each have a driver and an excursion guide. You'll be taken to Rose Hall shopping area. Each small bus will have a cooler with fruit juices, non-alcoholic drinks, and Jamaica samplers for your refreshment.

There is a variety of duty-free stores to browse and shop. You will have approximately an hour and half at the stores. Once the shopping is finished, you will then be brought to the base camp. You will have 4 choices of river activities to choose from: River Boarding, River Rafting, River Tubing, or River Kayaking. The members of your group can mix and match which activity that they want to do. Some can pick one, while others choose another. The river route is the same.

Regardless of your activity choice, you will be given safety instructions and your safety gear, which is mandatory. There are class 1 and 2 rapids, which always bring about smiles and laughter. Each lively section of the river is followed by calm, tranquil waters.

Rafting
Your group will receive the basics on paddling as a team before you get in your raft and start the thrilling ride downstream. The number of guests per raft will vary according to weight. The river rafting shore excursion staff captain will be steering the raft as you and your boat mates use teamwork to navigate down the Rio Bueno River. Laughter and excitement will pick up as the raft goes through various sections of class 1 and 2 whitewater rapids.

Kayaking
Your friendly kayak shore excursion guide will then go over all the easy basics for paddling your personal kayak and explain the safety information. They will then lead you down a short trail through the rainforest leading to the river where your kayaks are set-up. After any last questions, the group will get in their kayaks and follow the guide downstream. Your guides will paddle at the front of the group as the currents take the kayaks down the river. There will be exciting class 1 and 2 whitewater rapids followed by calm pools along the way. This is definitely suitable for beginners and families too. No kayaking or whitewater experience is needed. The guides will assist you the entire time.

Boarding
Your guide will go over the instructions and safety information before you gather up your gear, river board and follow the group down to the river's edge. The water is cool and inviting as you jump in and begin this exciting new water sport. Your guide will lead the way downstream as you navigate using your board, hands and legs to steer. You will pass through calm areas followed by class 1 and 2 whitewater rapids for a 3-mile thrilling journey! There will be a calm part of the river where you will take a breather, relax and maybe try your rope swing skills Tarzan style.

Tubing
The river tubing shore excursion guide will pass out your safety gear and take the group over the Irie Bridge and down a jungle trail to where you will launch the tubes. After a final check, you'll all jump in and the excitement starts. The river currents will take you through the rainforest as you enjoy the view during the lazy sections of the river. With each lazy section comes a thrilling class 2 rapid where the pace of the water picks up and your tube floats through the splashing white water. Coming to a bend in a lazy part of the river, you can try your Tarzan skills on the rope swing - fun to do and funnier to watch! Then you will start down the river over a few more rapids until the river calms.

Once you've followed the current down the river, your guide will assist you to the banks where you'll be taken to a private beach for lunch and drinks. A separate area with comfortable chairs, sun and shade, will be made available. Lunch will be served and guests will have access to the all-inclusive open bar. Powdery sand and swaying palms await you as you enjoy jerk chicken with rice and vegetable, or a pasta salad. Additional food, snacks, and drinks can be purchased at the beach if customers want more than the lunch provided. You'll have about an hour to relax on the powdery sand with spectacular views of the Caribbean.

Once the day comes to an end, you'll board your transportation again for the trip back to your Montego Bay cruise ship pier.
