Start this Bonaire Sail and Snorkel Excursion by meeting with your guide at your Bonaire cruise ship pier. Then you will climb onto an open-air bus for the 10-minute ride to the harbor. A brief, 3-minute walk takes you to where your mono-hull sailboat, captain, and crew are waiting. The boat is 44 ft (13.5 meters) long and has a toilet for your convenience. The boat has a maximum capacity for 14 guests, so you can have a personable service and enjoy the sailboat comfortably.
Your English speaking Bonaire sail and snorkel shore excursion captain will motor out of the harbor while the friendly crew serves you a drink from the open bar. While you sip your beverage, you will be briefed with the few safety tips needed and then your snorkel guide will tell you what to expect once in the water. Then just sit back and relax as you sail for approximately 45 minutes along the scenic coastline.
Once you have arrived to the reef, you will receive all the necessary equipment to enjoy your snorkeling excursion including a floating vest, if you request one. The crew will show you how to use the equipment and assist you into the warm water. You will be able to access the beautiful Caribbean waters from the ladder that reaches from the deck on down. Please note, all snorkelers need to have basic swimming skills and the ability to use the ladder to climb in and out of the water.
Then be amazed at the diverse world that lives under the water's surface. Your snorkel excursion guide will take you on a one-hour guided snorkel that will accompany you (two guides if 8 or more guests). They will be sure to point out anything of interest so you don't miss a thing. The coral reefs play habitat to astonishing marine life as well as both hard and soft corals. With over 340 fish species be sure to pack an underwater camera as you never know what you may see! The Marine Park is a nesting ground for Hawksbill and Loggerhead sea turtles, so prepare for a surprise! Your knowledgeable guide will be with you at all times pointing out sights and marine life. You are, of course, able to get back on board at any time you wish.
Once your snorkel time is completed you can enjoy some drinks and tasty snacks back on the sailboat. Then enjoy the sail back to the harbor where you will be returned via to your Bonaire cruise ship pier terminal.
Open bar offers sodas, fruit punch, beer, white wine, rose wine, and rum punch. Snacks include brie cheese, tuna salad, fresh fruit and something for your sweet tooth.
