Take advantage of the comfortable shuttle from the center of Naples to the famous Mount Vesuvius. Affordable, reliable and safe transportation.

Upon meeting your professional, English speaking guide close to your cruise port, you will set out for the 75-minute scenic drive to Mount Vesuvius in the comfort of a city sightseeing shuttle bus. While onboard, you will be able to enjoy the vivid audio outlining the history of the volcano available in five different languages.

Once you have arrived, there is a 10 Euro entrance fee per person (fee not included, only euros are accepted) and then you are ready to explore the site at your leisure and own pace. Mount Vesuvius is the only active volcano in mainland Europe and is responsible for some of the continent's largest volcanic eruptions and one of the most famous in history. Located on Italy's west coast, it overlooks the Bay and City of Naples in the distance and sits in the crater of the ancient Somma volcano and is part of one of the most recognized skylines in the world.

Mount Vesuvius has experienced eight major eruptions in the last 17,000 years. The 79 AD eruption is one of the most well-known ancient eruptions of all time. Ash, mud, and rocks from this eruption buried the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The volcano's last recorded eruption was in 1944 during World War II. You'll have 2 hours approximately to discover this amazing volcano and take some amazing pictures of this unique landscape on a self-guided visit. The onboard staff will tell you where and when exactly to meet so you do not miss your ride back!

At the end of your exploration time, you'll board your shuttle to return to the original meeting point in Naples where you can walk back to your cruise terminal or continue exploring at your leisure and expense.

Please note: A separate voucher will be emailed to you. You must print the voucher and give it to the local operator in order to do the excursion; do not give them your Shore Excursioneer eticket.

Excursion Notes

Entrance fee to Mt. Vesuvius National Park is not included, please consider an additional 10 Euros per person. This fee may vary slightly and is ONLY payable in Euros.
Please be advised this service is provided by reservation and your ticket IS NOT usable for a different time from the shown on your booking.
If you miss your shuttle back to Naples, there may or may NOT be space on another bus. This is a shuttle transportation service only and is not a guided excursion.
We suggest you have cash (Euros) on hand for the entrance fee, refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
Sensible, rubber-soled walking shoes are highly recommended along with sun protection.
Please pay attention to restrictions and requirements for this excursion, no refund will be granted if requirements are not met.
YOU WILL RECEIVE A VOUCHER IN A SEPARATE EMAIL. YOU MUST BRING A PRINTED COPY OF THE VOUCHER TO BOARD THE BUS. DO NOT GIVE THEM OUR ETICKET!

Excursion Restrictions

Minors 18 years and younger must present proof of identity; in the absence of a document, they will be charged at the adult rate.
This is not a wheelchair accessible excursion.
Guests must be able to step in and out of the transportation.
Guests must be able to walk on paved, gravel and cobblestone surfaces, some on inclines.
There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as steep curbs in some areas.
Seating on the bus is on a first come basis.
Excursion tickets are only valid on City Sightseeing buses. Unused tickets or tickets presented to another operator are non-refundable.
As there is no specific end time to the excursion, it is the guest's responsibility to know their ships scheduled departure time and plan their day to be back on board at the appointed time.
Schedule times might change due to traffic or any other force majeure.

Cancellation

For the Naples Affordable Shuttle to Mt. Vesuvius Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.

For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:

Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
Your ship skips/misses the port.
Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.
