    • Guests must know how to swim and be comfortable in the water.
    • People under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or similar substances that may prevent safe enjoyment, are not allowed to participate.

    For the Roatan Southside Reef Snorkel, Monkey / Sloth Park, and Beach Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 24 hours prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.

We had an amazing time and Samantha was so nice and was very informative on the area and people. The sloths and monkeys were a great experience and everyone that worked there was awesome. The best part for me was the snorkeling in the clear blue, beautiful water! The guides for that were also super awesome!! Well worth the money!

We enjoyed the sloths but we loved the monkeys. Laina our tour guide was awesome. She stopped at a local restaurant for us to have lunch. The snorkeling was good too.

This tour is great!! The sloths, small animals and bird were great! But, the monkeys stole the show, and will steal anything else thats loose. They were playful and fun and it was a great time. The Snorkel part was at a second location and was conducted very professionally. I don't remember our guides names but they were very good. Our Driver for the day, Ms. Lena was super nice, a great guide and showed us a local lunch spot before returning us to the ship with plenty of time to spare.

This was perfect!! We were greeted at the entrance to the port terminal and driven to the monkey and sloth hangout. Our driver was so friendly and offered so information about the island. We were the first ones there so we had the place to ourself. We got to hangout with the sloths and monkeys for as long as we wanted which was awesome. Never felt rushed. After that, we went to go snorkeling. Some of the best snorkeling we have done. Lots of fish and our guide showed us lobsters, conch, barracuda, sea spider, and sea urchins. One of the best shore excursions we have done.

My family and I were there on Wednesday 6-27-23. We had an amazing experience. We were on a 7 day cruise with 3 ports of call, and the trip to AJ's was our favorite experience during the entire trip (was not a Carnival excursion). Holding a sloth and playing with monkeys was an experience of a lifetime. My mom was in a wheelchair and the special accommodations that were made for her was wonderful. She didn't miss out on a thing. The snorkeling was one of the top snorkeling trips we've ever done(and we try to snorkel every chance we get). A special shout out for Jenson, our driver, for being there every step of the way and going above and beyond helping us. We'll never forget it.

We booked this for around $50 per person - it far exceeded all expectations. Pickup from the port was perfect and prompt. It was a fairly short drive (15-20 minutes) to the monkey/sloth encounter where we all had ample time to hug the sloths, hold the tropical birds and stand in the monkey cage. The staff was wonderful, personable and allowed everyone a lot of time with the animals. By far the highlight of our trip. Then it was just a 5 minute drive to the snorkel area where we got great snorkeling for about an hour around a coral reef. After snorkeling, we were dropped off at the beach across from the port to spend a few more hours before the ship left - we would do this again in a heartbeat. Pretty much the perfect morning excursion. They do require cash for the balance of whatever wasn't paid up front but that was clear on the receipt at the time of purchase.

Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed this excursion! We left the ship early to arrive at the appointed time. Getting to where the tour guides are was slightly confusing but a short walk. People will try to get you to take a bus but don't do it. Waste of money for a 5 minute walk. Carlos was our driver. We met him right away and were the only ones with him. First you go see the sloths, monkeys, macaws. We were so early that we had the entire place to ourselves, which was nice. The guys there were knowledgeable and made you comfortable. It doesn't take a ton of time to do but is very memorable. Our youngest was scared to go in with the monkeys but that was fine. They will recommend you take off jewelry, glasses, and empty your pockets. Up next was snorkeling. This was our first time to ever go out on a boat and snorkel and it was amazing! Michael was our snorkeling guide.and he made sure we were taken care of. He calmed our nerves and made sure to show us things we may miss underwater. All 6 of us truly loved this experience. We will forever remember it! Again, we were the only ones on the boat and snorkeling. Our ship docked at 6:30 and we met our guide by 7. We were completely finished and back on the ship before lunch time.

My family absolutely loved this excursion. It has moved to the top of my list of best excursions. The people were very nice and informative. They gave each of us plenty of time to hold and interact with the sloth and the monkeys and parrots and Guinea pigs and let us make lots of pictures and videos. The gentleman that drove the van to shuttle us to our destinations was very nice and answered all of our questions. Only thing I wasn't impressed with was that it was quite a walk to the meeting place, it's not just at the end of the pier as we thought and having some older people in our group it was kind of difficult. Overall I give this a 5 star rating. I am so happy we did this excursion and made some awesome memories!

We absolutely loved the animal park. The sloths and monkeys were fantastic to not only see but to interact with. The snorkeling experience was mediocre compared to others we've done, but we still a nice way to get wet and see the area. After the excursion we were given the option of being taken to a beach, to a oceanside restaurant with a pool, or back to the port. A few of our group decided to go to the restaurant and it looked nice, but we were ready to go back to the port to shop. Overall I would recommend this experience.

We had a good time during this excursion, but there were some concerns. First, the instructions are not very clear about where to go once you are in the port. There is a pretty good walk before you arrive at the meeting area. Then, we went to AJ's to visit the sloths and monkeys. The sloths were awesome. You get to hold a sloth if you want and it was a good experience. The only issue we had at AJ's were the monkeys! Some of the people in our group were nervous and laughing while inside the cage with the monkeys. Apparently, this causes the monkeys to start acting up. A few people in our group were actually bit by the monkeys! They will pull your hair and check your pockets, so do not leave things in your pockets. After AJ's, we were taken for snorkeling. This part was really fun! We saw sea urchins, sea cucumber, star fish, sand dollars, lobster, and a large variety of fish. After the snorkeling, we were offered to attend a beach, which looked to be a resort. It was nice and there were food and drink for purchase. The entire trip we were only offered one bottle of water, which was at the snorkel, so take drinks and snacks if you get hungry. All in all, it was well organized and fun. The guides were not talkative, but they were nice. Just beware of the monkeys!

Jim our guide told us lots about the area and answered all our questions on the way to & from our activities. To hold the sloths, McCaw, Guinea Pigs, and interact with the monkeys was so much fun & lots of pictures!!! Then off to snorkel the marine park. The guides were helpful, very informative and we held lots of small marine life. Then it was back to port to shop or go to the beach. I highly recommend this tour!!

I have to say this was the absolute best experience. AJ’s animals were extremely healthy and taken care of. We were allowed to hold the sloths and play with the monkeys for a lot longer than we expected! Then snorkeling was breathtaking. My family of 6 had never been before, but Turtle Man and his crew were patient and taught us so much as well as helped us explore the reef without damaging it! This is one excursion that we will be booking again next year and requesting the same people that we had this year! I give them a 10 out of 10!! Their facilities were super clean, and everything was sanitized!

Favorite Excursion of our Vacation! Kansas City, Missouri, US

My husband and I were the only ones on this tour, but this was very well done. Our driver met us outside the cruise terminal, and we walked with him to the newer, comfortable, air conditioned vehicle. We then drove to the monkey and sloth place where the employees were very friendly and informative. There were other tours there that joined us, but we had plenty of individual time with each of the animals. The animals were well cared for and very tame. It was obvious the employees took great pride in them and excellent care of them. Next we went to the snorkel area, which we were not sure we wanted to do since we are not good swimmers. However, the tour guide, "Turtle" was very reassuring. Our car driver drove the boat, and Turtle took us out in the water with life jackets and even a flotation device that we could hold onto. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the sea creatures we saw. He was also very patient teaching us how to snorkel and made sure we were comfortable. Our driver then took us back to the terminal and was also very knowledgeable of the area and had pleasant conversation all during the drive. Highly recommend!

This excursion was a lot of fun. The guides were very informative. Getting to see and play with sloths, parrots and capuchins was fun, but the sloths and capuchins were the highlight. This was a great excursion and I would highly recommend it.

We had a blast! The sloths and monkeys were so cool!! The snorkeling was really good as well and our guide was very educational. We decided to bypass the beach and go to a local restaurant that was recommended and had Conch fritters (to die for). Loved that our driver was with us the entire time and was showing and teaching us different things about the island

This was the highlight of our cruise, by far. Monique Arch, our guide, was friendly, knowledgeable and so kind to us. The sloths, monkeys, macaws, and guinea pigs were so cute and our children (aged 10 and 13) were thrilled to be able to touch and hold them. The area was a smaller park and therefore not as busy so we did not feel rushed to move on to the next site. Monique took us to our next site where our snorkel guide was obviously passionate about the reef in his area. Although it was quite rough seas and windy, our snorkel guide did his best to show us the marine life in the area. The change rooms were clean and the snack shack on site was very reasonably priced. I would definitely do this trip again, and would ask for Monique.

What an amazing time we had doing this excursion! We went with a group of six, ages ranging from 1 year to 50, and we all enjoyed it! Our guide was outstanding and even brought us to a beautiful beach ‘las palmas’ afterwards!!!! The snorkeling crew was outstanding and even photographed the entire thing! Extremely accommodating as they allowed one of our party members stay and swim off the boat with the one year old while everyone snorkeled. 10/10 and will definitely do this excursion again when we return next year!

I am so glad we chose this excursion. It was exactly as described. We were met by Caitlin and she took us to the monkey and sloth hangout where we enjoyed the interaction very much. It is certainly an experience you don't get every day. Then we headed to do the snorkeling. Lots of time to enjoy and really enjoyed just hanging out afterwards at the dock. Great people and tour!

Guide was great, AJ's was awesome. Loved the sloths, monkeys and birds. The snorkeling left a little to be desired, wasnt much to see and felt rushed through it. But being in a group of 4 was much more comfortable than the large group we had gone with when booked through carnival. Overall was not disappointed.

This was the highlight of our time in Honduras. My group of 9 were thrilled with the one on one time with the sloths, monkeys, and other animals we experienced. The snorkel portion was amazing as well our guide provided so much knowledge and sent us additional photos of our time in the water. As a bonus our guides allowed us to stop at a local chocolate maker for an incredible tasting tour. I'm sure the beach would have been great too, but we had to get back to the ship.

Our guide and driver took us to AJ’s, a small rescue operation for sloths, where the guides there helped us hold the resident sloths. The sloths are endangered on the mainland of Honduras we were told. They were easy to hold as directed and seemed to like the guides. It was quite the thrill. Next we visited with some red macaws, which perched on our hat covered heads. They are heavy and will bite at metal bits so watch your hats. The cappuccino monkeys are hilarious and will jump all over you. There is a basic restroom at AJs where you also can change to a bathing suit. We then went to a nice big flat boat with a roof and took a guided snorkel. The reefs are great and in shallow water. Suggest wearing sunscreen top and long bottoms for snorkeling that way you protect your body and the reef. The guide pointed out a spiny lobster and other sea life. Our driver offered to take us to a beach and restaurant but we had been out in sun long enough. We shared the suv with another couple who just visited the sloths and restaurant. They said the food was excellent. The roads are potholed so allow time and expect bumps. Our driver stopped and bought us a beer at a store since we didn’t stop to eat. The guide and tour are recommended. They get you to the ship on time.

We couldn't wait to visit with the monkeys and sloths and were looking forward to this for so long. It exceeded our expectations for sure. The guides were very informative and helpful. Our time with the monkeys and sloths was so much fun! I didn't want to leave and could have stayed there all day. We were the envy of all of our friends and family back home when they saw our photos of us hugging monkeys and sloths. :-) I highly recommend this excursion. So many wonderful memories came home with us. We'll be talking about this for a long time. The only thing I would change about this excursion would be for it to last longer! lol

Selected this excursion primarily to see the sloths. Our tour guide, Brandon, was great! We enjoyed talking with him and gaining some insight on the local culture. The drive around the island was enjoyable. We did not get to snorkel due to weather (personal choice) so I am unable to leave a review on that portion of the excursion. Everyone was amazing! This was our favorite thing by far that we have done. The crew was so helpful! Great small group, my 12 year old son loved having a guide for snorkeling. Beautiful!

We just got off the Vista and went on this cruise. The instructions were clear as to where to go. We had 8 people in our group including 3 children ages 6, 8, and 10. The sloths\monkey encounter was amazing! we got to hold the sloths and play with the monkeys. All the animals were well healthy and well feed. They were either rescue animals or personal pets. The kids were so excited and loved this part of the excursion. After this we went to the Buccaneer Beach club for a beach break. You could drink, relax, swim or snorkel. Water was about 2.5' deep. The kids loved swimming/snorkeling around. Next we went on a small boat out to snorkel. We got to see so many beautiful fish, conch, lobster and see urchins. The guide was very knowledgeable about the see life and was extremely patient with the kids. The water wasn't very deep here and you could really see the beauty of the reef and fish. We loved our time in Honduras and this was my favorite excursion of all time!!!

Our family had a great time in visiting monkey and bird. My mother and I didn’t go snorkeling and the driver Ashley took us to a very beautiful small beach place. My husband and son went snorkeling and said snorkeling was very good too, lots of fish and snorkeled more than one hour. Lots of fun and great value. Ashley is so nice, she made a u-turn to help us to buy Lychee which cost only one dollar for more than 10 Lychees per bag. She really made our day.

We were given plenty of time to hold the sloth, monkeys, and macaw at the sanctuary and it was amazing. The trainers and staff were extremely knowledgeable and had a great relationship with the animals which was very important to us. Our guide for the day was also extremely knowledgeable and taught us many things about Honduras. The snorkeling portion of the trip was also beautiful and we again had plenty of time to explore and see everything we wanted to. Highly recommend

I absolutely loved the sloth, parrots and ESPECIALLY the monkey hangout! We also did the snorkeling and the tour guide made us very comfortable especially being my first time. Monique our overall personal tour guide was great. She was very sweet. I will definitely do this excursion again.

OMG the best excursion I have ever take. Do not book with the Cruise Line!! Ask for Monique to guide your tour. We had best time ever--Spoke to someone who went on similar excursion with cruise line--They did NOT get to hold the animals and it was more expensive---The snorkling with Justin was also a great time!!! Thank YOU!!!
