Glide across the top of the warm, aqua-blue water. Enjoy an introduction to Stand Up Paddleboarding also called just SUP. This is a new sport that is growing rapidly in popularity. It is a combination of canoeing, kayaking, and surfing but all the only skill you need is a sense of balance. This activity is best done on flat, smooth water...no waves! You do not need any prior experience to be able to master this quickly...all ages can enjoy it.
You will meet just a short taxi ride from the cruise piers at the famous Mr. Sanchos Beach Club where your SUP instructor will be waiting to get you going. You will start your lesson on the beach with an intro about the equipment (paddle and board), get some tips on posture and balance and then practice out in the shallow water under the guidance of your English-speaking, friendly instructor.
The water off the beach at Mr. Sanchos is perfect! Crystal clear and calm... so you will be up and paddling in no time. If you have anyone in your group that would like to come along and watch from the beach, they are welcome to and there is no charge! There are full beach club facilities for all to enjoy. When your lesson is completed, you may stay at Mr. Sanchos as long as you wish. There is a full-service restaurant and bar available for food and beverage purchases.
There is a swimming pool, lounge chairs, restrooms, showers, beach toys, and more. Other on-site options such as parasailing, ATV, horseback riding, jet skiing, snorkeling, and more at an extra cost. NOTE: You do not need to pay an entrance fee to Mr. Sanchos to do this activity. There is a "pay as you go" side that does not require a fee and is separated from the All-Inclusive side.
