      • Lunch is not included on the price. Guests on special diets or eating schedules may wish to bring along a snack.
      • We suggest you have cash on hand for refreshments, excursion staff gratuities, shopping, etc.
      • Comfortable, cotton clothing is suggested at lower elevations. Long pants and a lite sweater or jacket are recommended at higher elevations.
      • Lava can be dusty. Wear something that is washable.
      • Closed toe, rubber-soled walking shoes that support the ankle are highly recommended for walking over lava.
      • Please note that there is a minimum of 4 guests required to operate this excursion. If the minimum is not met, the excursion will be cancelled but your payment is refundable.
    Excursion Restrictions
    • This excursion uses ADA accessible vehicles. Several stops on the excursion have limited access.
    • Wheelchairs must be standard width and fold up for storage.
    • Guests must be able to step into and out of transportation.
    • Guests must be able to walk over paved, gravel and uneven lava surfaces, some on inclines.
    • There are steps required to enter several of the sites as well as some steep curbs.
    • This excursion is for cruise ship guests only.

    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
    Cancellation
    Cancellations up to 24 hours prior to excursion are subject to a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations within 24 hours prior to excursion are not refundable.

    • Your ship skips/misses the port.
    • Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
    • A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
    • Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.

I really liked my day in Hilo and the sightseeing to the falls was outstanding. The guide was very knowledgable without being too preachy with the information. Then we went to Volcanoes National Park. So glad we were able to view that. Although we did not see lava flowing, we saw several areas with volcanic steam. I should have paid closer attention to the guide and what he called those. My bad.

We liked the excursion and the guide was very friendly and accommodating. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the tour. There were only 5 people in our group so it was very nice, almost private. Seeing the sights in Hawaii has been a dream and we were not disappointed!

My friend and I cruised to Hilo on Royal Caribbean, we were doubting on taking a full day excursion but now I can speak for both when I say that it is totally worth it. Our guide was the highlight of this tour, he knows EVERYTHING and during the whole tour he was sharing amazing stories!! The only thing I suggest is to consider bringing lunch because it's not included and believe me, you'll get hungry. Thank you Steven, we will never forget this trip!
