Come with us for a fun-filled day on the island of Roatan! This great combo excursion includes sightseeing, shopping, parasailing, and beach time! This unique combination helps you to fill your day with nothing but the best the island has to offer.
This Roatan shore excursion day begins by meeting with your excursion guide just outside the cruise ship terminal. You will be shown your comfortable and air-conditioned transportation for a 30-minute, scenic drive to an overlook viewpoint. Along the way, your guide will entertain you with history and stories about the island. Once you arrive at Coral View, you will have 15 minutes to get some great shots of the island, the ocean, and even the beautiful Black Pearl Golf Course.
Next, you'll head off to a local souvenir store, which is about a 20-minute drive from Coral View. At the store, you'll enjoy another 20 minutes to browse or buy typical local souvenirs and handicrafts of all kinds.
From the store, you'll head off to the famous, and gorgeous, West Bay Beach, which is about a 25-minute drive. That is where you'll meet your parasail captain and crew for your fun parasailing excursion.
Upon arrival, you will be introduced to their captain and the parasail shore excursion boat. Your English-speaking, and experienced, parasail boat crew will get you in the parasail harness, have you sit down on the back of the boat, hook your harness into the parachute bar and you will gently lift off! The boat and winch do everything else for you. Pricing is per person. Participants can choose to fly solo, tandem with a friend, or if conditions allow, you might be able to fly triple with 3 people at the same time.
Everyone enjoys the flight over the lovely turquoise waters. It is so peaceful and quiet with little to no jostling. But the adrenaline does get pumping as you float up to 600ft (182 meters) over the water! You will have the option to fly solo or have a friend join you for a tandem flight. Each flight (solo or tandem) is approximately 12 minutes from take-off to landing. When your turn is completed, the boat will reel you in and you will land right back on the back of the boat. For extra thrills, you can ask the captain to dip your legs into the water on the way, or you may choose not to. There will be more fliers on board, the excursion may take 60 minutes, or so, for each to have their turn. But, while waiting you can sit back and enjoy the views!
When you get back to the beach after parasailing, you will have time to enjoy the West Bay beach. Time at the beach varies and is approximately 2 hours. Food/beverages may be purchased at any of the beach clubs and you may use their facilities. Then, when the time of your Roatan Parasail Excursion is up, the transportation will return you to your Roatan cruise ship terminal.
