      • We recommend wearing layers with the top layer being waterproof. 
      • Please wear sensible walking/hiking shoes that may get wet.

    • Guests must be able to navigate a ramp to the dock which may be steep depending on the tide.

    Why is Auke Bay such a good place to see whales in Juneau Alaska?
    Auke Bay is full of salmon, herring, and other foods the humpback needs. They only feed in summer so when they find a good feeding ground, they remain.
    Where do the whales go in the winter?
    Humpback whales go to Hawaii where they live off the added weight from their summer eating and give birth. Orcas do not follow a set migration but instead, go where they can find food.
    Do I need to take my passport with me on the Juneau Exclusive Whale-Watching Excursion to show with my Electronic Shore Excursion Ticket?
    No, it is not necessary to take along your passport unless noted by your cruise line or listed in the Restrictions or Notes tab for the excursion. Your local operator has your booking noted. Please arrive with a printed copy of your eticket or digital copy if applicable.
    Cancellation

    Cancellations within 29 to 16 days prior to excursion are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of total price. Cancellations within 15 days prior to excursion are non-refundable.

    For the Juneau Exclusive Whale-Watching Excursion, we issue full refund for your deposit or full payment to us if: Canceled by client prior to excursion date with a minimum of 30 days prior notice by email to reservations@shoreexcursioneer.com.

    For cancellation reasons below, you must contact us via email within 14 days after your excursion:

    • Your ship arrives into port late and you cannot make it in time to the meeting location (we will verify with the tour operator).
    • Your ship skips/misses the port.
    • Weather conditions or equipment failure prevents the operator from running the excursion.
    • A medical problem prevents you from safely participating in the excursion (we will verify with the excursion operator and the guest may send doctor's note). This applies to individuals only and not the remainder of the group.
    • Cancellations/deposit refund requests that do not comply with the above may not be subject to refund.
    • Refunds may be subject to a service charge fee as determined by the payment processor, please refer to Terms and Conditions for more information.

Captain Mike and Jessica were great fun and knowledgeable and all around great tour guides. It was great having lots of room - not being packed with people. We had 10 people on a 16 person boat and it was PERFECT.

We loved our whale watching trip with Captain John. There were 4 in our group and there were 6 of us on the boat. Capt. John was wonderful, knowledgeable and knew where the whales were. We even got to see the Orcas which was really exciting. We saw the cruise ship excursion group, boat very crowded. This was so much better. We highly recommend this excursion, worth every penny. Thank you Captain John.

We were part of the Royal Princess cruise last month and have the opportunity to take this tour. From beginning to end was fantastic. This was a small and personalized tour, the crew was incredibly knowledgable and friendly. We spotted a lot beside the whales and orcas. Simply an excellent experience.

This was an amazing trip! Captain Ray and Nichole were awesome and gave us great views of whales. It was a small group, which made it easy to see the whales. We really got to see a little bit of everything. It was just awesome. I highly recommend this trip.

We had the absolute best day ever! This excursion exceeded all expectations with porpoises, seals, eagles, and lots of whales, including one that came up close and personal for a visit! The weather was beautiful and we feel very blessed to have had such an amazing experience! Scott and Nicole were GREAT guides!

This was our favorite excursion during our one week cruise, our captain and the crew were great. They knew exactly were to take us in order to guarantee seeing whales, we saw seals as well. We saw bubble feeding and a couple of whales breeching too. If ever we go back to Alaska we will for sure take this excursion again... The prices are way less expensive with you than the ones offered by the cruise, thank you!
