Costa Rica has over 840 species of birds, an abundance of fruit trees, and a breathtaking rainforest. Get back to nature in a spectacular and exciting way with this Costa Rican adventure. Zip through the trees and explore the river banks for wildlife aboard a safari boat.


You will take a comfortable, private ride from your Puntarenas cruise pier through the lush countryside. Along the way, your guide will point out the sights of interest such as mango, coffee, sugar, and citrus plantations, as well as the rural farming communities. Once at your destination, you will be able to enjoy some free time to explore the area a bit before beginning your adventure.

Carara Adventure Park, a privately-owned reserve, spans 80 acres of rainforest with exceptional views of the Pacific Coast and Puntarenas City. Your thrilling zipline experience will take you across 12 cables, 15 platforms, and 3 hanging bridges! The longest cable is 1,200 feet long, with its highest point being approximately 100 feet and the maximum speed you can reach is 30 km/hr. Before setting off on the 60-90 minutes of excitement, you will receive your Petzl zip line equipment and orientation on the rules and regulations for safety. Then it's off to the mountaintop in an open truck to begin zipping.

Your guide will clip your harness onto the line and gravity will take you across to the next platform where another guide awaits. They will unclip you and the rest of the group will follow over. The process continues across all of the lines.

After that rush, you deserve some relaxing time in nature. It is only a short drive to Tarcoles River for an hour-long eco boat tour. This area is the habitat of the American crocodile, and the waters are abundant with countless species of water birds including herons, egrets, mangrove warblers, scarlet macaws, and American pygmy kingfishers. You may also get a glimpse of the large iguanas and howler monkeys who make this their home. Sit back and relax and enjoy nature from the safety and comfort of your boat.

Your adventure concludes with a return to your Püntarenas cruise pier where you can either return to your ship or explore the city. Guests will receive complimentary tropical fruit and bottled water.
