Ride and then glide! Prepare yourself for a fun-filled day of action, adventure, and time in nature on this exciting combo shore excursion day in Puerto Plata / Amber Cove: zip line and/or horseback riding! If there is anyone in your group who would just like to come along and observe, no problem! For those who will only be observing, only transportation, food, and bottled water are included.
You will meet your shore excursion guide at your Amber Cove / Puerto Plata cruise ship port to board your air-conditioned transportation to the Zip Line Ranch, a short 10-minute ride away. Following a meet and greet, your guide will equip you with all of your safety gear, and a bottle of water so you stay hydrated, and give a safety briefing. Lockers are available for rent to secure your belongings. Please check restrictions and notes before you book.
Then it's time for an adrenaline rush! As you traverse 8 different ACCT-certified zip lines, you will glide in comfort. The longest line is 2,460 feet (749 meters). At the first platform, the guide will clip your harness onto the zip line and gravity will take you over the treetops to the next platform where another guide is waiting for you. You will get unclipped and as soon as the rest of your small shore excursion group completes that line, then you will move on to the next one!
After all of that excitement, you will take things at a much slower pace as you change out of your zip line gear and enjoy a 45-minute horseback ride through the countryside with breathtaking views. Guests will be matched up to a horse according to their size and/or riding experience. Along the way, you will see a variety of fruit trees, palm trees, and a host of local animals. In addition, you will be able to glimpse the residential life of the Dominican locals. No worries if you are a novice rider since this experience is designed for beginners of all ages, with basic riding instructions provided. Helmets are provided for all guests as an extra safety measure. The ride is leisurely paced, follow your Amber Cove shore excursion guide down the path type of activity. There is no running or galloping of the horses.
Are you hungry yet? How about a delectable Dominican buffet lunch prepared just for you and your small excursion group? Dishes you may find on the buffet include rice, beans, chicken or beef, fried bananas, yucca, and fruit! Once you have had your fill, take a leisurely walk through the tropical garden on site.
At the conclusion of your adventure shore excursion in Amber Cove, your transportation will return you to your Amber Cove / Puerto Plata cruise ship port.
